Ive had no email or letter but logged into the accomodation website this morning and it said there. Do you know where you're staying yet?
Nah il probably still go home over the holidays, but its useful because i dont have to take all my belongings home. Plus i suppose i could stay for a few days in the hols and have some mates or family over while its quiet.

You got a link for that? Cant seem to find it.

Fair point about the extended let, i guess that isnt so bad. Still gonna' cost you a bomb down!

The photos of Rootes on the site are, I believe, of Old Rootes if they haven't been updated since I last checked. My room photos are attached below (as well as that of our kitchen). Annoyingly I don't actually have one of the wardrobe (it's immediately to the right of the sink), but is very spacious - you can fit plenty of hanging clothes, there should be three shelves to the right of that within the wardrobe and two drawers underneath. There is also lockable storage space attached above, about 2x4x3 foot (though don't quote me on that, I'm having difficulty visualising it!). Other than that, you also have the shelves above the desk and the set of three drawers you see underneath it, most tend to pull the latter out and use it as a bedside table.

EDIT: Apologies for the fact that they are HUGE.

How many of you share those 2 fridges? I take it you compensate for food dissapearing too?

What's wrong with a teddy? So long as there aren't millions lining the bed I feel I can hold my own in the manlyness stakes...:p:

The picture shows a fridge and the freezer, there was a 2nd fridge out of shot. So that was 6 to one fridge, 7 to the other and all 13 of us to the freezer. Freezer space was a bit tight from time to time, but we didn't have any real problems with the fridges. Towards the end of the year some food mysteriously disappeared at night from the freezer when we left the kitchen unlocked a few times, I have good metaphotical money on the kitchen above being responsible as ours was sitting right there on their way up the stairs.

Not as bas as i thought then. I take it you all tended to make frequent trips to Tesco / Costcutters instead of buying loads of stuff in one go. Dont you just hate thieves though  Maybe if i adopt a tofu and marmite diet my food will stay safe lol.

It varied really - I tended to do a proper Tesco shop about once a week (usually Friday afternoons) with Costcutter 60 seconds away for things I needed there and then, usually bread / meat / lettuce for lunches. Others did gigantic shops on Sunday afternoons to the point of needing a suitcase to get the stuff back home (I've done my best to pass out on the 10 minute walk back before when carrying 5 heavy bags in my hands).

I commensed quite disciplined about food shopping, going to tesco once or twice a week. Then I got lazy and by the end of the year was just going to costcutter whenever I got hungry and having nothing but beer and orange juice in the fridge :P. Im hoping it will be easier this year to stay good  , however as im living a minuite or so from burger king that may soon go out the window lol

I heard something about a closet on the corridor that people could throw stuff in and it was locked over holidays??
Any truth in that?

Yes, that's true. There's a cupboard for storage in each corridor that you can ask the cleaners / tutors to open and shut for you at the beginning and end of terms, so that's pretty useful for holiday storage as well as your top box above the wardrobe.

A further way to get free storage is to make friends with someone on a 39 week let.
