Spanish Is really useful but also my worst subject at gcse lol.
Are your departments close to Westwood? Ive been looking at the Map and it seems the location is a bit closer than I originally thought to maths at least.
Hahah I can safely say maths was my worst subject!!!
I heard Westwood is really close to maths but I think it's still a bit of walk to languages. I don't really mind, the rooms look great!!
hi anyone who is interested in accommodation swap i got into sherbourne i am looking to swap with anyone from rootes just private message me if anyone is interested so we can stay in contact for when the transfer date comes
Westwood wasn't my first choice either but I agree it doesn't look too bad at all what course are you doing? I'm English Lit. Have you joined the Westwood Halls page on FB?
Just found out that I am going to be in shared temporary accommodation at Westwood.. (Apparently) I am going to be stuck there for the rest of the year. Would anyone be willing to swap? Am I even allowed to? I'm not hating on Westwood, nor do I have anything against it, it's just sharing a room with someone else, that is a bit much for my first year. What's the atmosphere at westwood like?

Oh no! That was my fear. I'm at Westwood and I have read that usually shared accom reverts to singles a couple of weeks in. Maybe if there are any previous Westwood people they could comment? Westwood was my last choice but the more I read about it, it sounds like a good place to be and I'm really looking forward to moving in What course are you on?

I did it. Shared a room with someone who turned out to pretty much be one of my best friends. Another two people on our floor who shared refused to separate until they could get another room in the same block so they didn't have to leave all over again. It does sound a bit much to begin with but they often do a very good job of matching you. And it will only be for a few weeks max - they just say a term or so to be extra safe.

I was in Westwood last year (although not sharing). Everyone that was sharing however seemed fine with it. They'll only put you with people similar to you (from your accom. personal statement). Also, most people will have their own room within a month or so. I think everyone in my block had their own room by the end of term 1. Also, I think you only pay half the rent for that time which is good. However, it's possible that when you get your own room, it may not be in Westwood.
Does anyone know what the bathroom situation is like at Westwood?
In the four bigger halls, there are about four toilets and I think 3/4 showers between about 22 or so. I've never had a problem with having to wait to use the shower or anything. I'm not sure about the four smaller ones, but it should be similar.

Here are some pictures of my room and the common room from one of the Westwood blocks. Also, it seems as though I got a bigger window than others on here .
Do you know if all bedrooms have a similar colour scheme to your room?
Thanks for the post. Did you have to share a wardrobe too? Do you know how far Westwood is from the sociology department and the gym?
Yeah, I did. There's a reasonable amount of storage but we were living out of bags a little, with just our main clothes in the wardrobe. It's about 10-15 minutes (depending how fast you walk) from both. But there is a regular shuttle bus that runs all over campus and very useful if you live in Westwood/Sherbourne/further out places.
