Hmm alright. So i guess lakeside and heronbank seem the best option as im looking for an en suite.
Thanks for your help =)
Hi everyone !

I'll be a postgrad in economics next year and I would really like to be on the campus. I have the choice between Claycroft, Heronbank, Lakeside, Tocil and Whitefields.

What would you suggest me for my top choices in order to have a good chance to be on campus please ??

And is the bedroom walls in Whitefields still yellow (as in the University photos) ?

thanks!
Hi,
I was wondering if Warwick would still accept you if you get a grade lower than what they asked for ,in a Business based degree.
For example they wanted AAA and you got AAB

I did ask this in a different thread but I did not get a reply. Hopefully one of you guys can help me out.

The general consensus seems to be that yes, there will be some flexibility. But, it does depend on how well everyone does, how many get the grades, how high are the grade boundaries that year and how competitive the course is. I may be wrong, but business courses at warwick are generally quite competitive so that may mean they aren't as flexible as they would be for a less in demand subject.

Does anyone know whether the flats at Tocil are mixed? (i.e. first years living in the same flat as final year students/postgrad students)
Hi everyone! This is Har****a from India and I'll be pursuing the MSc Management degree at Warwick Business School this October 2015! I'm trying to figure out accomodation and stuff, so any help from anyone will be greatly appreciated! What, roughly, is the cheapest rates for a single room for one person, ensuite or otherwise? Any one who's spent an year at Warwick, how much do the living expenses amount to, roughly? Also, in case anyone is going to Warwick BS in Sept-Oct 2015 from New Delhi, India, please do tell if you're interested in sharing a flat or figuring out accommodation together :smile:Cheers

I'm in whitefields  I'll copy something I posted before about Whitefields at the bottom.
I can't tell you much about Tocil, I don't think it was available to undergrads in my year (not sure about this). I've not met anyone who lives there. I thought it was house of 12 sharing toilet between 6, but I'm not sure! In Whitefields its technically supposed to be 6 to a toilet (12 all together also), but theres actually 7 people downstairs and 5 upstairs so thats also the split of the toilets.
You might get in to JM but don't fret too much about it, JM was my first choice and I ended up in Whitefields and loved it! No one I know hates their accommodation, a couple of people have had noise issues (rootes) but thats about it.

Whitefields
I'll break it up as a list
Positives
Cheap
Close to Costcutter, pharmacy, the laundrette coffee shops, Student Union, Terrace bar, Fusion bar (football and sport screenings), the dirty duck pub, the bread oven (sandwich shop), piazza area and the bus stop
Close to path to gibbet hill (Life sciences, medicine and some modules of psychology) and the learning grid (mini library, useful when you need to print something in a rush!)
Can't stress the location enough, I love it
Homely feel
Common room is nice
Nice patch of green behind the houses
The rooms are quite big

Negatives
If you are one of the houses closest to the SU (Flats 10-14), the SU can be quite loud (But I know if you expressed in the application "about me bit" that you don't like noise, they won't put you on these houses). I live in one of the closest ones and my window is close to the SU. Its bothered me like a handful of times, twice during exam period when I put ear plugs in. No one else in my house seems that bothered.
About general noise, no noiser than anywhere else really. You hear people walking by but thats the same anywhere. If you put in your about me section that you don't want noise or noisy flatmates, they won't put you near the noise or noisy people!
The kitchen is small. Its not uncomfortable but fridge space isn't super abundant.

Hey! Did you experience any particular discomfort that really bothered you apart from those listed above at Whitefields?
Thanks
Just seen Timeteam dig Coventry on the tv featuring quarter inch hailstones and continual rain. Surprisingly they never got round to discussing the most endearing features of our climate, the cutting wind and the biting cold. Have you noticed how southerners rarely venture north of The Wash if there is an 'r' in the month.
Hiya I'm an offer holder for Biological Sciences, trying to choose accommodation atmo...
How bad is shared bathrooms ? I'm not rich by any means and am looking at all the non-ensuite options which seem cheaper and which look fun! Is there any downsides I should know about before I apply?
Also has any one been put in off-campus accommodation for the first year?

Taaaaaa!!!
Xoxoxo xox
Has anyone on here personally lived in Bluebell and found that it was actually a social place to live? A lot of posts are negative about it but they all seem to be from people from other accommodation..

I didn't live in bluebell (I lived in Westwood), but I have been to bluebell a few times. Most of the people I'm friends with from Bluebell didn't really seem particularly close to anyone else from their flats, and instead were mainly friends with people from their course. Although, this is only two people, and as I said, I didn't actually live there so I can't give you a proper idea.

I'm thinking about putting Heronbank or Lakeside as one as my choices but I'll be having lectures at the Gibbert Hill campus. Is this a bad idea because it is so far away or does anyone know of any Life Sciences students staying at accommodation around that area?

I'm putting Jack Martin as my first choice though.
Does anyone have recommendations for 2016/17 accommodation off campus?
