Hopefully there are more people like us who still want to go out! aha

I think that I literally wrote 'I am quiet but like socialising' in my little bio for Warwick accommodation :') I was just concerned about ending up with people who were super loud and disruptive but now I kind of regret clicking it! We'll just have to hope for the best

Yeah it doesn't mean people don't like socialising, it's more that during the week and especially at exam times, people will tend to go out less and shouldn't be too loud. The likelihood is that you'll find someone to go out with, I was in a quiet area and some people in my flat went out on a semi-regular basis

I wrote the same thing:smile:

Could someone explain to me what the 'quiet area' actually is because I said yes to it and I'm now thinking I might regret it. Does saying yes to the quiet area mean that everyone who uses your kitchen is going to be a hermit (slight exaggeration) or does it just mean that you will be placed near other rooms in the corridor that prefer it a bit quieter when revising or trying to fall asleep?

I am asking this because I often like it quieter but I am also a sociable person who would like to go out for freshers week etc.

Mostly the latter. The personal statement bit is far more important.

Given this, you'll definitely be fine.

I can't help you with the first point, as that's really personal opinion and I have little experience with either. However lakeside and rootes are about a 5/10 minute walk away, depending on how fast you go, it's no great distance at all.

Hi I got a place through clearing as an British undergraduate, and was wondering. If someone could post a list of the best to worst on campus halls in term of value for money and sociability - I'm fairly sociable but also value my sleep! Please help and ASAP cause need to fill out the application! Thank you!

Somebody did that earlier here,

But it really depends on what you like! Roots is thought to be the party one, Bluebell has a lot of international students

Hello everybody! I've an unconditional offer for a post-grad taught course (LLM, ICGFR). They offered me an accomodation at Study Inn. I've read some review here on the forum, and there are different opinions about the quality of this accomodation. Any suggestion?

You were lucky to get an offer. The rooms are very good quality and there will be lots of Warwick students staying there.

I have been reading through but can't find an up to date one so if you know where it is could you possible copy and paste it? Also isn't roots quite far?

No. Rootes is on the campus doorstep. You could literally throw a stone and hit the SU. There's both old and new Rootes too.

Lakeside and Heronbank are fairly far out, as is Westwood. The former two tend to have a number of international students and are quite quiet. Not many people intentionally pick Westwood, but it tends to turn out really nice - distant, but you get a good community, big rooms and are close to Tesco.

Bluebell is the most expensive and behind Rootes. You'll see a lot of gags throughout the year about the stereotypical Bluebell'er :P
Does anybody have any experience with bringing a full ATX tower and 25" display to Warwick? Carrying it around the house when I want to change something is a complete pain in the arse as it is, so I'm worried that it'd be difficult to get it to and from my accommodation.

Here's a picture with a can of DP to give a sense of scale:

People have shifted considerably bigger things around, so it shouldn't be a major problem.

Ah, that's good to know then. Out of curiosity, what's the biggest thing you've seen somebody move in/out with?
whats westwood, arther vicks, jack martin, torcil, and heronbank like??? as it personality and atmophere??

Anyone knows a group or a thread/web where I can browse private accommodation offers near Warwick? I wouldn't mind having a room rented in a house where eg. an old lady or some adults live.

I've moved large bundles of 7ft poles in/out of accommodation more times than you might expect. There's a fair number of similar sized PCs floating around (and regularly getting moved to LANs, so it can't be that hard). Some of the bigger instruments are pretty awkward too.
