The first thing to do would probably be calling the university and asking about the decision deadline. If it's after the accommodation deadline ask if there is any way to prioritize your application. (Probably not but worth a try). If it's before the accommodation deadline, then just wait

Thank you for replying!

I read somewhere that while we get our accommodation confirmed, we don't actually get our room numbers until we arrive..is this still the case? Its just all my friends going to other unis already know who their flat mates are via Facebook ect. :/

The room number is only given to you when you arrive.

Are we allowed to have a mini fridge in our rooms?

If you have a medical need for a fridge supported by medical evidence then it is OK, but the University provides the fridge - you cannot bring your own fridge.

That's strange. I didn't take down the lady's name but quite a few people have arranged swaps

Applications for exchanges cannot be made until 15 October. Then they have to be considered by staff and approved. So no-one has arranged any swaps as yet.

Last year, we found out which rooms we were at by going on https://start.warwick.ac.uk, logging in with your student number & password you set (not sure if you've been given them yet) then under a little tab called My Warwick Admin Systems, click student records online, and on that page click then Student Finance, under the charges it has a string of letters which tell you what room and block you are in. Mine said 12M/WH WH12M which meant i was in Whitefields (WH) 12 in room M.

It is only a provisional allocation. It can still change before you arrive.
Hey, guys! I've been assigned a twin ensuite room at Sherbourne.
Does anybody know how big this room will be? Also, how long is the walk from Sherbourne to the Econ buildings?
And oh oh oh, does anybody know of any way I can find my roommate before we get to Uni?

I had one of these rooms to myself last year, and it is essentially the size of 2 rooms mirrored against each other. Not sure of the dimensions exactly but I've uploaded a photo I took on the first day. This is very strange if you do have to share with somebody since nobody I knew had a roommate at Sherbourne - perhaps it's not a permanent thing idk.

You can get to the econ buildings in 10 minutes quite comfortably; 15 if you're a slow walker.

On the Start Warwick eVision page we could find our exact room numbers before moving-in weekend, then there were Facebook pages for each of the halls where people posted which flat/room they were in, so you'll only be able to find out who your roommate is if they also post on Facebook (or maybe some other existing thread).

I've also got a twin room at sherbourne, do you know the address because I'm enrolling and I can't find it anywhere?

I think I left this blank and it didn't matter, but the only address I ever used (for postal deliveries) included the post code for the post room. So if you want to put an address I'd suggest:

Sherbourne Residences
Block/flat/room No.
University of Warwick
Coventry
CV4 7ES (Post room postcode)

In theory, this is true. However, if you log into Student Records Online (once you've enrolled and got an ITS account), the term time contract address (which has your room number in it) gets filled in automatically, usually a week or so before term starts.

This may sound like an odd question but do they have any mirrors in the rooms of whitefields? Or anywhere in the house? If not I was thinking of bringing a mirror, maybe a big one to lean against the wall, would this be okay?

Ha ha! I was thinking the exact same thing! I'm really curious about whether our accommodation will provide us with long mirrors and coat hangers.

Not really hopeful with the coat hangers but when I accepted my accommodation there was an area where you have to check everything in your room when you arrive to say if you found it faulty or if it is okay and mirror was one of the things,so maybe that means there is one? I'm probably going to bring a mirror anyway, even if it's small

Ah that is so helpful thank you! Did you like Whitefields all in all?

And also is there lots of storage room in the bedrooms? thank you!

I really loved my year in whitefields, we were all really sad to leave! The location is great and whilst its not the most well decorated halls, it really felt like home. One thing that bugged me was the small kitchen size but you learn to live with it.

Theres quite a bit, you get a medium sized wardrobe, a bed side table. I put lots of stuff under my bed and under my desk

Mirrors are super important, its not silly at all. There is a mirror in every room on the wall. Its not super big and it was kinda awkwardly placed in my room but I made do with it. I got a biggish mirror from a charity shop in leamington and put it on my desk against the wall to give it a vanity feel. So I'd say yeah thats totally ok if you'd like it. Its your room to decorate pretty much as you please. You just can't hang stuff up with nails or anything that would leave a permanent mark.

Do we have a shelf each in the fridge the university provides? Also is there personal storage space in the kitchen cupboards (with locks).

Are lamps provided in our rooms?

There definitely isn't in Westwood. I don't think there was in Whitefields or Bluebell either. I can't comment on the rest though.
