I would love to live in Warwick (visited the castle and town a few years back and it was much nicer than Leamington) but there wasn't even an offer on there for Warwick accommodation so I assume that you can't be assigned there.

Eh, don't doubt that there's some nice bits, but I love being able to go on easy walks from where I am now and Coventry would probably put a stop to that. Kenilworth, on the other hand, is in a really great location and looks like I wouldn't have to worry about idiots when walking around at night.

Yeah, they said that they had a few.

I'll go on a Street View tour now...

Are robberies common in some of these areas? Do you know of anybody living there that's been robbed? In the accommodation guide they make it out as though it's quite a big issue.

Being around people who are retired sounds pretty decent tbh. My supervisor said that Kenilworth was extremely popular when he managed to find a house there, odd. To me, it seems like a quieter, closer version of Leamington with everything you need (shops, park etc).

I got the same enail about Ken btw (unlikely that I'll get offer because of lack of interest). I'm suprised that demand for Kemilworth isn't higher - like you said, Leam hasn't really got anything than Ken hasn't. I suppose it just the fact that Ken isn't as densely populated with students as Leam.

You were also told to wait for other people to apply for Kenilworth? Tbh, I can't see the Cov properties being more popular than Kenilworth if people are pushed into either one, so we should be fine.

I take that as a positive tbh. Only seeing students and professors gets a bit weird after a while.

It looks like we'll just have to pray that 1 or 2 more people express an interest in Kenilworth.

Yep, hopefully we get a few people falling out and having to go individual lel. I'll be sure to post here if I get any info on Kenilworth stuff
Hi, does anyone know how far away Cryfield Accommodation is from the library and Economics/Social Sciences building? Thanks

It's not far at all. All of the accommodation buildings are no more than a 20 minute walk away. Cryfields is about 10 minutes from the library or probably even less and about 15/20 minutes from Economics and the Social Sciences.
Well, I've been offered something in Chapelfields... Looks like I'll have to go around Warwick Accommodation and use something else
For some shared-bathroom residences like Cryfield, Redfern, Rootes & Westwood, uni website says there's a washbasin in the room. But apart from Cryfield, I can't see it in the pictures at Warwick's website. Also, does the washbasin have 2 taps (H&C) or a single mixer tap? Thanks.
Hey, I'm an offer holder for this coming academic year. I just wanted to know whether everyone has to move out in year two and live on their own or are international students excused?

The university doesn't have enough space for all of the first years, let alone everybody else that wants to live on campus as well. Unless you have medical reasons why you need to live on campus, you'll have to look for somewhere to live, just the same as everybody else. I don't see why it would be any more difficult for an international student to find a few people willing to live with them and a nearby house than for anyone else. Very few students live close enough to the university to stay at home during that year.

Oh well i guess it's fine then. I spoke with some people and if they too are ok with shifting AFTER one year on campus then I don't mind the trouble.

Help!! Offer holder! I'm looking at accommodation. General requirements for me are 39 weeks, en suite, good social life. Unfortunately according to the website that means that I won't be in the halls anywhere near the SU Leaves me with Sherbourne, Blue Bell (but too expensive unfortunately), Heronbank and Lakeside. Which halls would you recommend that fit the following bills and yet is social and a good mix of international/ UK students? (I'm an international student but would like to have a good time and mingle with everyone too.) Current students, please help, Thank you! xx
Hello guys,

I am going to study engineering at Warwick next year and was wondering what the best accommodation would be for me. My budget for accommodation is around £110-120 per week and I want somewhere relatively close to where most of my lectures will be held (5-10 min walk). I'm not a massive partier (don't think rootes is for me) and really want to work hard during my first year and get a first, though I do want a good friendly social atmosphere. I don't want an ensuite as they are quite expensive and I don't mind sharing bathrooms.

I've been looking and Westwood looks good but apparently is miles away and you have to share rooms. How is tocil?

Could any current warwick students help me?

Thanks

SJ
I would also recommend Tocil, its quite close to campus, not that expensive and in the middle socially. Also no ensuite, and they have flats so it can be easier to get a tight knit flat.

Westwood isn't that far away (maybe 10-15 minutes walk from the engineering building if you're slow), and you only have to share rooms if you say that you want to. Tocil's pretty decent.
What's the average amount of money you guys can spend freely while at uni without going broke?
