Well, they're all more expensive than stuff with no ensuite. Bluebell can be a bit noisy since a lot of crap happens around it at night and you do get people using the path behind the accommodation as somewhere to smoke etc.
Aha... I wasn't planning on choosing Bluebell anyway because of the price
I've never actually been inside the gym on campus except to collect keys for things, so I can't really help there, but the warwick sport memberships for this year are:
Silver (for joining clubs, athletics tracks, badminton/squash/table tennis, swimming pool, sauna): £60 for the year. Above + climbing: £140 for the year. Silver + tennis tournaments/coaching and stuff: £190 for the year Silver + gym: £205 for the year Platinum (all of the above plus a bundle on classes): £420 for the year.
All also have six month options for 75% of the price.
Locally, Go Outdoors is probably the best option. Otherwise, pretty much any similar outdoor clothing place (Mountain warehouse, etc.) would be a good option.
Erm... I guess technically undergraduate. I'm in the final year of a four year undergraduate masters in maths.
Thanks a lot, mate. Is it true that the post grad halls are full of indians and chinese grads? Or it it more diversified? Also, did you take the silver membership? And im assuming you can join societies and clubs without paying for the membership

Also, best of luck for graduating this year!
Yeah, I joined silver. You can join societies without paying anything to Warwick Sport (but you do need to join the Societies Federation for those societies that don't have an exemption, which is £19 and one of the major sources of funding for societies). To join sports clubs, you'll need to pay for Warwick Sport membership (the difference between the two, incidentally, is very little more significant than "what they decided to call themselves when they set the society/club up": in general, calling yourself a society gets you more members (since you don't have to pay for Warwick Sport membership), and calling yourself a sports club gets you more funding: that's why you'll see things like Warwick Mountains being a sports club, but a lot of the dance societies are societies. This is actually a lot less complicated (but, inevitably, more expensive) than it was previously: there were previously things called On Campus and Off Campus Sports Clubs, which needed different types of Warwick Sport membership.

Thanks! Seems like everything costs money. Good money too. You think silver membership was worth it? I dont know if Id pay 200£ for the gym but 60£ is not too bad for table tennis and the pool which I think I might use. Which services of the silver did you use? Did you join clubs as well?

Yeah, I joined a few clubs, and did a fair amount with them, so it was worth it for me.
Can anyone provide any info on how the twin room applications work and what the twin rooms are like? Me and another friend are both applying to warwick and both are considering applying for a twin room. Any help would be greatly appreciated
Since the opening of the accomodation portal is approaching, I should really start researching on which options I will put on the application.
What are the best options for Business students? I want a sociable one (I know these are stereotypes to some extent and almost everyone says this but I really really prefer more "party"- orientated hall). Mixed gender and 39-weeks as well. I don't have a problem with shared toilet. Oh, and proximity is important too.
Is Rootes too loud? To the point that you can't sleep every night? How likely is it that if I put it as my first choice I will get there? Should I apply the very first day to be sure I will get the first or second choice? Which other would you choose when you consider being sociable, nice rooms, close to shops and Business school and 39 weeks?

Thank you!
It's not that Rootes is loud, per se, it's mostly that it's close to the SU and not terribly well soundproofed, so you'll be able to hear the SU stuff. Nowhere is too far from anywhere, but you can see the exact locations here. All halls are mixed gender (with single-gender areas being put in as needed by people requesting them). When you apply is irrelevant: it is in no way first come first served.
Hi everyone! Is there any way I can optimise the chances of getting Arthur Vick or Sherbourne? I've heard you are more likely to get undersubscribed accommodation if you include it in your list and I want to avoid this! Can any anyone advise me on which to include if I want one of these choices?
Apologies, new here, do you apply for accomodation ranking your 5/6 choices in order and they'll actively look at that order and try to allocate you, or do you put in 5/6 and they choose one for you out of those randomly/
I am starting this September to study PPE, I want a social accommodation, mixed that is not too loud and would love a double bed, anyone got any advice on where the best place to go would be?

There is no way of optimising your chance of obtaining an accommodation offer. Just ordinal rank your choices and a lot of the time, Warwick is able to provide students with their first choice. It very very rarely goes beyond your third choice, and hopefully there are at least three accommodations that take your fancy. I would hazard a guess and say that undersubscribed accommodations would include Cryfield, Westwood, Sherbourne and Heronbank based purely on location, but that is merely an educated guess.

They are actively chosen in the order you stated So state your preferences in the order that you want to get them.

Great course And the only double beds on campus are Bluebell I believe. It is a fairly sociable accommodation (though it is dependent on your flatmates; some Bluebell students would argue that people can be unsociable). But with Bluebell, because there are many nearby accommodations and multiple blocks of Bluebell itself, it seems like the perfect accommodation for you, because it isn't that loud, but can be as sociable as you want to make it. The big downside of course, is the cost of the accommodation.

There's only one accommodation that has a double bed, bluebell
