I wonder if you can alter your preferences after completing form?

Hey! I've already submitted the form but read some reviews about the accommodations afterwards and quite a few people said Sherbourne is an antisocial place. Is it true? I mean, it really depends on you and your flatmates, doesn't it? It's my second choice but now I don't know if I want to go there. :/

I'm not at Warwick so what I am about to say may be inaccurate, but I don't think it is.

1) You've already submitted your application form, so there is no point worrying about your choices because what is done is done (apologies if that came across as harsh).
2) A few people may have said that Sherbourne is anti-social but many others have said that it is so so loud and very social. Don't generalise a few peoples opinions to the whole accomodation block(s). Their opinion is only applicable to their flatmates and their experience, you will be with completely different people (as you said)
3) You may get your first choice, so don't worry! If you do get Sherbourne, don't go with the mindset that people will be antisocial! Im sure you will be fine and find someone you can click with

Good luck with everything, hope I helped and made this situation seem just that little bit better!

Apparently you can't. Once its been sent you can't change it. Where did you apply to if you don't mind me asking.

Going by some of the parties I went to there in first year, I'd say it definitely has loud and social flats. Whether you're in one depends on what you wrote in the description of you bit!

If you manage your money well you'll be fine! I had money left over in first year that I could have spent to get an ensuite.
which accomodation is the least quiet? Are JM,Lakeside and redfern good if you want to have fun lol?
Does anyone have any experience/insight re sharing a room in Sherbourne?
Namely, how many desks in the room?
Is the room bogger than a single room?

Hi there,

I lived in Sherbourne this year, and I'll be sad to go. Sherbourne is not antisocial at all, it mainly depends on your flatmates but you'll inevitably meet people from other flats and blocks. It is nowhere near as loud as Rootes, but Sherbourne is a good place for someone who likes a middle ground between partying/socializing and actually gettting sleep and studying. It's also the most 'well kept' accommodation as it is the newest and I would definitely recommend it.

Hope this helps.
Whats a good accomodation if you want a nice room, sociable people in your flat and a nice kitchen area? doesnt matter if its en suite or not

Were you bothered by the location? Did you use the shuttlebus service or walk to go to the main campus and Tesco?
Thinking
1.Tocil
2.Claycroft
3.Redfern
4.Lakeside.
5.Westwood

Questions:
-Is Tocil a good accom.? From what I've read it's central, releatively cheaper than others, rooms are of average size, and quite sociable.
-Would putting Westwood at 5 be risky? I don't really wanna go there, and people say its so undersubscribed I'll likely get in there over other choices.
-Redfern/claycroft are new, so would I be staying with final years as it was open to them? Would I miss out on freshers experiences?

Thanks
My choices are:
1- Rootes
2- JM
3- Sherbourne
4- Bluebell
5- Tocil
I really really really want to go to rootes, I'd just absolutely hate to live in a quiet hall and rootes is also cheaper than some others. Can anyone give their opinion as to how likely it is that I'll get rootes?
Thanks
Previous students, did you get your first choice or second with regards to the hall. I'm starting to think that we are barely allocated our first choice....
Which accommodations would you say have the best balance of everything ? ie socialising, nice rooms, close to maths building and close to the piazza.
Hi, I'm not really about the partying life... But I wouldn't mind going out a few times and perhaps having some drinks in my flat, I'm pretty new to all of this haha and I'm kinda shy, and I do like my alone time so I'd prefer to not be having parties every night. Any advice for accommodation that isn't too 'wild' but people are still up for some banter, like not completely antisocial?
does anyone know if there're any rules around people staying over in your room? like inviting people over who don't go to the university

Officially, you have to tell the university and there are time limits. In practice, so long as you aren't subletting your room, nobody cares.

Your social life will be exactly what you make of it. And more importantly, what you put in the description for the type of person you are in the accommodation form. There are lots of people in Bluebell who are antisocial and don't go out much and there are people who go out 3-4 times a week as well. I stayed in Bluebell in my first year and it was great, had a really good bunch of people in my flat. we went out multiple times a week and when exam season came around, I had a nice quiet environment to study and didn't have any 3am fire alarms that are oh so common in other 'more social' halls.

Hi, do you mind telling me what choice bluebell was when you were applying for accommodation? Thanks
