Hi, I've heard it said that Bluebell is full of weird EU and International people -
are there not hardly any English at all?

I'm debating between Sherbourne and Bluebell - i don't mind the distance because I'm into tennis and its quite close to the tennis centre -

I'm looking for a semi-sociable hall with lots of English people who also like sport - (BTW i go to an international school at the mo, so I'm not racist or anything, but would just like a change from my normal school friends to people from a similar background to me - currently id have to fly to Hong Kong if i wanted to visit my bestfriend - so no pulling the race card please) x

Thanks

Both of these halls have a very high percentage of international students and although there is nothing wrong with it, it tends to be the case that often they socialise mostly with other foreign students. I have a few friends in both Bluebell and Sherbourne that are upset that their flatmates don't want to socialise, although I have one friend in Bluebell who was lucky to get a good flat, all the others somewhat regret their decision. Sherboure is also quite far away so its often tricky to convince people to go pre-drinking and socialising there!

Jack Martin and Arthur Vick are both great if you are looking for ensuite accommodation. Sporty people tend to pick either AV or JM because it is right next to the sports hall. In my experience there tends to be a good balance of British and international students in JM and AV as opposed to Bluebell and Sherbourne where for whatever reason there are a lot more international students.

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask!

Thanks for such a detailed reply, i really appreciate it as I'm actually quite nervous about getting the accommodation right because it is so important!

how likely are you to get your first choice? Does it depend on the hall itself and how many others want to go there?

Also, do you get to know who your flatmates are before you move in - so you can chat on Facebook?
Has anyone ever stayed in Study inn studios? It is located in coventry and 20-25 mins bus ride from campus. Would you guys recommend it to a new incoming postgraduate student? How much does a bus ride cost from coventry city center to the main campus.
Thanks!
i'd recommend:

AV \
JM > all within 5 min walk to central campus; walk with a mate and its much faster. great halls as well
Claycroft /

Sherbourne (bit isolated tho but halls are nice and its near wbs; where i study)

forget the other halls - I stay in rootes atm; it's alright but it is hard to study as too many people. Good for parties tho

Hey, I don't know if there already is one but for people who have firmed Warwick for 2017/18, does anyone want to make a Fresher's FB page so we can all get to talk to each other? :P (I'm willing to do it if people are willing?)

I think Rootes is the most popular due to its size and party reputation
When do we apply for the accommodation?
Hi, I would be joining the Economics Diploma plus MSc 1+1 program this September 2017. Which would be the accommodation hall nearest to where the classes and lectures for economics wouldbe happening? Looking at Claycroft or Tocil, how far are they from the economics department? Cheers and Thanks!

Economics lectures are usually in Maths and Stats departments or the Oculus. Maths and stats is about 2 minutes from Claycroft and 3-4 minutes from Tocil and vice versa regarding the Oculus. For seminars they will probably be in the economics department in the social sciences building in which case Tocil is closer by about 2 or 3 minutes. In any case there isn't that much of a difference in it.

Hope this helps
Is benefactors close to wbs and the student union?
Is Claycroft good/Popular?
Do current students find moving out due to 34 week lets a major issue? I've heard mostly good things about Arthur Vick and Jack Martin except for the fact that you have to move out over Easter.

How much of a disruption is this? To both studying and possibly social activities?

My friend doesn't mind it. His family took his stuff home. I'd personally hate is as we have no family car, but if you have one and family are willing, it could work.
What accommodation do you guys think is the best if I would be mostly in the law building? btw I want an ensuite and a 39 week let- tia!
