What’s the ideal accommodation for a postgraduate student in the Computer Science department?
I am doing postgrad CompSci also. There's a campus map available online, but to be honest I would be happy with anything on campus, from what I've read even this is tricky to get...
My lectures will predominately be taught on Westwood campus, so it makes sense for me to apply there. However, I'm hearing mixed opinions about it...
Its one of the further accomodations from central campus. But its still walking distance to everywhere so that shouldnt put you off applying to Westwood

Honestly, I think Westwood will be my first choice.
All my lectures and seminars will be taught on Westwood, so I would much rather have a near to nothing walk earlier classes, and walk that extra 15 minutes for the social aspect of university life.
Just out of interest, what's the other closest accommodations to Westwood?

Claycroft is the closest to the DCS building. Tocil is also very close. Both are quite cheap if I recall correctly, and it's not worth paying much more for Warwick accommodations because there's not really anything "bad" as such (except Whitefields). However there's no guarantee you'll always be in the DCS building anyway. I studied A few CS MSc modules this year that had lectures in the Arts Center Cinema and the Humanities Building for example. The truth is, most places are within comfortable walking distance from any accommodations on campus.
Those of us who did undergrad in years 2,3,4 had a 45-60 minute commute from Leamington every morning and the same in the evening. So imo, trying to reduce a 10 minute walk to 5 minutes is not worth worrying about too much You'll be within good distance compared to the majority of Warwick students!

Westwood Claycroft Tocil Lakeside Whitefield 2 off campus
Hopefully we get campus accom, fingers crossed!
I'm excited to go back to university and start studying again, plus it's the first time I will have lived away from home
Do you think there will be a decent social events and parties for us oldie post grads:P
Almost exactly the same good luck!
Yeah you're excited now until the hours required for a postgrad degree become clear.. it'll be cool.
At my undergrad there were a few PG only events, can't imagine what they get up to. Again I think it'll be fine, a lot of students go to Warwick and I don't see mixing in with undergraduates being an issue.

Yep, pretty much the same lol.
Definitely excited because I have wanted to do this course for such a long time, and I'm finally in a position to do it financially. The workload will be significant, but honestly, it's no tougher to the last three years of work I have done to prepare for the masters.
I have heard that there will be a week 0 this year, which has never been done before at Warwick. Just think about it, a welcome week with no academic classes
Guessing they've done it so that students can explore the city, join societies, make friends and have a good time:nod:
Where did you apply to live and what are you studying...
As there was no reply, I did some stalking and they are a postgrad student. so someone else has already had news and it's off campus... meanwhile hearing nothing...

Well.....that sucks ass.
Fingers crossed that not every postgraduate is based off campus.
