i was wondering guys if i have to actually firm Warwick to receive the information about accomodation via brochures etc?

I was wondering the same thing. I didn't firm it yet, but I'll probably do it today or tomorrow. But try looking on the Warwick website as well. I wouldn't bet on it, but I remember downloading an accommodation brochure (pdf) or something like that..

Belive me Darvulia, you'll have a fair choice of geeks no matter where you stay at warwick!!

All I can say to anyone applying is that Rootes is simply the best just because it's literally SO easy to meet people. You're all in corridors that are all joined and so you can literally walk along 80 people's rooms in one go and that's only on 1 floor and there are 4!!! Meeting loads of people is probably one of the best things at uni and so that's why everyone just has so much fun at rootes.

Haha, I think you've fully convinced me here. But I'm still thinking whether I should go for a silent place in Rootes.. that is stress out in my form that I really like to study in a quiet place. As I am totally retarded when it comes to concentration, I can't actually study when there's noise all around me. And that's the impression TSR gave me about Rootes... that noise is its middle name :P. But besides that, I'm definitely going for Rootes, with or without the geek-ish aspect )

There really is no silent place in Rootes. Yes, there are quieter corridors, but there will still be a certain amount of noise. For instance, wherever you are in the building, you will still have to deal with a large number of 4am fire alarms throughout the year.

wea do the chinese ppl stay?

China probably.
Apart from that their probably as spread out in Warwick as the 'British'. I've heard lakeside has a large number of international students, but chinese in general? Chances are you'll find them wherever.

I pretty much like the one which is close to a playfield where I can go for excercise.
Anyone knows where the gym is?

Right outside my window. Tocil is next to the gym, there are playfields in Westwood and near Cryfield.
Y'anami!

Thanks.
I think I should choose Whitefields or Cryfield then. Which one do you reckon if I am a very active person and I like to cook a lot lol.
I take it we still can't apply yet.

So much for the early April target...
does any1 know when we will be able to apply for accommodation?

Thanks.

Whitefields is in the centre of campus and Cryfield is on the edge of campus. They're both quite small accommodations, and although I've never been in the kitchen for Cryfield, it IS the cheapest accommodation on campus I think. But Whitefields is between the Cryfield pitches and the gym, so you might wanna think about that as well.
what kind of kitchen stuff do we need at warwick???
i cant wait to go IKEA for uni shopping lol
Are all the halls in Warwick Self-Catered?

Don't come planning to share pots and pans - it may end up this way, but not buying enough for yourself cos you presume it will turn communal isn't a good way to endear yourself to people. You'll have your own drawers and cupboards, albeit with varying degrees of space according to the halls - get your own crockery, cutlery, 2 or 3 saucepans, a frying pan or wok, teatowel, oven gloves, any utensils you take for granted at home that you will actually feasibly use, but without overdoing it.

So as I understand there will be no crockery at all?
As far as I can remember, there is no crockery in the kitchens.

Things you get are:
Oven + hob + grill
Microwave
Kettle
Toaster
Sink + Drying rack
Fridge + Freezer
Table + chairs
Cupboard + Drawer space, enough for each person
The quantities of some of those things will depend on the number of people in the kitchen.

Lol, we didn't even get a drying rack if I recall correctly... nor were there enough cupboards/drawers for 1 each.
