Why did you not apply for MORSE

Not incredibly sure really. I guess I just wanted a degree with the title "maths and statistics", and I thought it sensible to apply for the same thing everywhere. There doesn't appear to be much difference in the first year, granted, and seeing as I'm still thinking I might want to take the actuarial route, I'll probably end up taking the core economics module of year 1 MORSE as one of my options anyway, because that one leads to an exemption.

There seems to be a little bit more of a difference between M&S and MORSE in the later years though, in terms of the "streams" you can take, although I'm not sure. I'm not regretting applying for maths and stats anyway if that's what you mean- initially I was planning on applying for straight maths but I wanted to study statistics too much.

Someone on one of the Warwick uni. facebook groups e-mailed them and asked when applications would open and they said in around 2 weeks time.

Hi guys.
I put Warwick as my insurance in the end of April. Am i supposed to receive any letter from Warwick with information about accommodation ? I read on their website that people with insurance still need to apply for accommodatiom.

If you bothered to read the 2 very posts above, you will have gathered that there is a webpage that you need to keep checking and that applications should be open in approximately 2 weeks time.

Are there any big differences between Tocil and Whitefields? They are both layed out as flats, but whitefields' rooms are actually a bit bigger and cost quite a bit less. Are there any benefits to Tocil that I am missing?

Thanks
To those currently/were at JM - what did you put in your about me/did you put anything there specifically to try and get JM?
IMPORTANT QUESTION (for me anyways :O )

Do they let people not from warwick uni stay over in accomodation?! :O (I have a boyfriend...)

Yes.
It's on the warwick website contract.
Only over the weekend, and usually only with permission, but i doubt people do that.
Also, only one person at a time.

Don't know how strict they are about it though..
last year my mate went down and stayed there with his brother for a few days at a time, mid-week. Noone ever questioned him
arrghh you cant stay in Jack Martin for more than 30 weeks!
so you have to move your stuff out during Xmas and Easter?

Now that Rootes is 39 week let (therefore making it more expensive), Do you think the type of people that usually apply there will switch to places like cryfield and whitefields?

As i want to stay in a loud/fun/sociable accomodation. But i dont think i can afford rootes now :frown:

Same situation, rootes is expensive now that its 39weeks, so im going for cryfields first, then whitefields/rootes. Noone is going to know if everyone will still go for rootes but i guess it must be filled up  So i think its still going to be the same as previous years... although i dont think cryfield/whitefields is going to be dead-socially, anywere you go will be fun! just depends on you really.
I think I'm going to go for rootes as my first choice. The 39 week let thing is quite a big thing seeing I can leave my stuff there without the hassle of having to move in and out all the time. lol I haven't even been that bothered about accomodation....

Rootes is still only the 4th most expensive accommodation - only Cryfield (30 week) and Whitefields are under £3,000 and Westwood is £1/week cheaper than Rootes.

Don't expect that much of a shift.

Yeah i think thats going to be my order of choices too.
£1000 is a big difference. And i dont really see having to move all my stuff out as a "hassle".

Yeah i agree that it will depend on me. I guess we just have to hope to be with people who are similar to you, then it wont matter what accomodation you stay at
Hey all.
I need some help in which accomadation to pick.
I'm a sociable kind of guy ( Don't mind parties - Like going parties myself ). I dont mind people being loud but obviously not TO TO MEGA loud. I like to have a laugh. I smoke aswell. Also want something near everything really like the Union, Tesco, Arts theatre etc.
After doing research, i know i must pick 3 campuses. I think i will be picking Whitefields but i dont know what else. Rootes sounds ok but the Alarm going off at the middle of the night just puts me right off ( really hate being waken )

Could anyone give me some recomendation or tips for any other campuses please. Thanks.

Oh yer and 1 more thing, im not looking to spend a lot on accomdation.
