Rootes is still only the 4th most expensive accommodation - only Cryfield (30 week) and Whitefields are under £3,000 and Westwood is £1/week cheaper than Rootes.
Don't expect that much of a shift.
True, but Cryfields is the big difference, the rest are more similar in pricing.. thats why I am definately putting Cryfields as no. 1 then rootes/whitefields, whichever after that... Westwood I cant apply for because of the distance. Plus, 3k a year for accommodation isnt really that much, I just see it as alot compared to the 2k at Cryfields lol
arrghh you cant stay in Jack Martin for more than 30 weeks! so you have to move your stuff out during Xmas and Easter?
Ahh, I had a question about that. Sorry if this sounds a bit stupid but a 30-week let means that we'll be 'kicked out' when? Xmas, easter, any other holiday in the uk? (I'm an international student so I'm not sure whether it's a good idea to get a 30-week let..)

Yeah it means you only get accommodation during term time
For me..its not that I cant move it, its just going to be annoying! Ive heard there are places where you can store your things over the holidays (i.e. Xmas/Easter)?? is that true?
Gah! Can't believe only one ensuite now. But I am kinda glad, at least I don't have to put Lakeside as second choice. I was going to put it plainly for the ensuite factor, but now I don't need to
Atm I'm thinking AV, Claycroft....
Has anyone had to re-think their choices now that only 1 ensuite is available.
I really want an ensuite, but if I apply to JM/AV would that be quite risky because they are both pretty popular. Would applying to Heronbank/Benefactors be a safer option for someone like me?

Benefactors only has 70 beds, of which there are 24 shared rooms.
Heronbank may give you a better opportunity, as it's 700 rooms that are quite far from the main campus. It's also £800 more expensive than JM.
i was wondering for the 'about me' section in accomodation do we write casually or actually we have to structure it?like a personal statement
I was thinking the same thing. Apparently at other unis they give you a list of options that sum you up and you tick about 4, which would be easier methinks.
To be honest my about you section was very short and not great but i figured it wasn't that important
I basically put that i wanted to be able to have a good mixture of work and fun, and that i didn't want to be with the sort of people that would keep me up to 4 in the morning! To be honest i really think mine could have been better but i just wanted to get it over and done with.

just out of interest, what accom. did you apply to?
