SU, Tesco's, Maths building and gym so close to each other. But I'm happy with my JM en suite :biggrin:

I had JM first, then Rootes then Tocil.

Mainly for its location, although looking back I don't know why I dismissed Claycroft (other than price).

I'll probably get a Freshers passport once we enrol and I will be seeing Tinchy :biggrin:

My problem is I never researched. i was actually super confident I'd get Rootes. nah but looking at it now I think Tocil would suit me more than Rootes. It's moderate rather than full out like Rootes. Where did you end up getting? :biggrin:

I got my first choice of Cryfield. Was hoping for rootes (2nd choice) because cryfields rooms are tiny (i guess i didnt research properly either :p:

) . But im very happy with cryfield

Hmm yeah, I don't think I researched too well either, I picked Rootes purely because when I went for the Open Day, the girl who showed us around said it was 'more social than the ensuite places where people go to bed at 9,' (don't beat me up - I know that's not true!) and because I'm naturally a bit reclusive, I thought it would be a good idea to go somewhere more crowded in order to make myself socialise.. But the nerves/desire to curl into a ball hadn't kicked in at that point and I hadn't realised quite what a reputation Rootes has! Aah well, I shall be fine. Reading these pages have made me feel much better anyway.

I got Rootes too... was my second choice after Tocil, but I'm not too fussed, its an extra 200 quid I guess. In general I'm worried though- how are noise levels in Rootes, really?!? I really need my sleep (I'm a baby, yah), and I need near-silence in order to achieve this.

Also are we supposed to sign these accommodation contracts immediately yeah?

The noise levelled are overhyped and people really exaggerate Rootes as being the "party residence". It isn't. Parties happen there, sure. But they do anywhere. Most people are primarily there to study, and will gladly quieten down if you're finding your neighbours a bit noisy one night; and resident tutors tend to be on to people making excess noise from 11PM onwards.

Tocil's great :-) I wanted it again in my final year, but I got my 2nd choice Hurst.

I believe it is a bath with a showerhead. No seperate shower cubicle.

Hmm speak for your own (bit ****? :biggrin:

) block estel. My block was the party block. Non-present warden
Parties were had, often. 3am was regular, 5am less so.
Good times!

But times change. All these people should get there and see what's happening and keep an open mind. If they then cant deal, look at transferring.
