Claycroft has one bathroom between two people, it's about two/three times the size of the ensuites and much better too.
Equally I have friends in Rootes who say they never have to wait to use the bathroom.
Claycroft is a special case though . I'd even call it semi-ensuite, in most of the other non-ensuite halls there are more people per shower, unfortunately.
It's certainly a matter of opinion and personality though.

Sure. I reckon it's worth mentioning to people though. I didn't read much about it at all before applying for it and turns out I'm so glad I got it because it truly is a great place to live.

Note that JM/AV/Cryfield/Benefactors are 30 week lets meaning they you need to move your stuff out
There have been intentional fire alarms being set off between midnight and 6am though, perhaps because it's just JM
If you want an en suite, pick it as number 1 and choose good backups Have any allergies, list them to improve the chance of getting first choice, say you are lively in the PS to get yourself in a more lively kitchen if you want so and take the top shelf of the fridge when you get there as you get an extra inch of storage space
what are term times like i don't understand (cba to search lol) what difference 30 weeks makes? and wtf about fire alarms? you mean its a prank or its just routine, if its pranks i don't mind lol
allergies? like i get irritatated by quiet people? :s and thumbs up for the fridge tip.
btw whats the situation if someone like steals my sandwich, do i just go ross geller on them?
ok i just searched ''A 30-week let covers term time only, and requires you to vacate your room during the Christmas and Easter Vacation. You will not be able to extend the 30-week let. However you will be able to apply for vacation accommodation on campus prior to the start of each vacation period.
A 39-week let covers term time and the Christmas and Easter vacation. It is occasionally possible to extend this let further for Postrgraduates, but you would need to check the availability with Warwick Accommodation.''
wtf is the point of the 39 week let if people won't be there anyway? :/

oh and flat vs corridor? what are they?
Regards to 30/39 week lets: We have arrivals weekend in late September/early October. People with surnames beginning A to L arrive on Saturday while people with surnames beginning M to Z arrive on a Sunday. Or you're meant to but you should arrive on Saturday regardless so you don't miss out on the fun.
People with 39 week lets then have the accommodation from arrivals weekend until the end of the year (in July). This means they can leave stuff in their rooms/kitchens for this period and can enter their room whenever they want to in this period. This means you can return a week before the start of the term, if you wish to do so, or even spend the holidays on campus.
People with 30 week lets have the accommodation from arrivals weekend until 10am on the Saturday after the end of term. You have to remove all your stuff from your rooms and kitchens and you may only leave stuff in a lockable cupboard (about 1.2m x 0.75m x 0.6m), for which you will need a padlock. You then regain access to your room from 10am the Saturday before the start of term and the same happens over the spring break. Then a similar process will occur on the last week of the year in July. This means that you cannot return earlier than the set times given to you and if it snows (like it did this January) you may have trouble getting back in time for the start of term/you can only take a train with a smaller suitcase and you won't have everything (remember you need to take everything home/to uni each term).
Fire alarms can be set off my anything. Burning toast, deodorant, steam from a shower, actual fires, alarm drills (once per year, I think), 5 second tests (once per week) and by pressing the button. You won't be happy waking up at 4 am and it's raining and cold
If you have serious medical conditions, I believe that you are assigned your first choice automatically. If you are disabled, you will probably be placed in Arthur Vick as it has automatic doors and wider corridors.
If someone is stealing your food on a regular basis, talk to them and if it continues you might have to bring it up with a warden. But there's probably a thread on TSR for this situation .
Flat: Whitefields, Tocil. You are in enclosed rooms where you share a kitchen/bathroom/lounge area. You're in closer contact with the people you live with yet can be more isloated from everyone else (particularly with Whitefields). Tocil is less extreme as there are 6 flats (of 6, 9 or 12 people) in a 3 story building (3 for each stairwell, I believe) so you can meet other people without having to go outside.
Corridor: You're in blocks of x kitchens and you share a kitchen among y people, where x is about 9 in the case of JM/AV, 3 in the case of Westwood and 3/4 in the case of each Rootes block and y is somewhere between 8 and 20 people or something (Westwood has up to 22 per kitchen, Rootes about 16, JM/AV about 12). With all the corridors being on one block it's easy to go to another kitchen and say hi/be friends with them without having to go outside. If you share bathrooms and all the once on your floor are taken, you can go downstairs and use other ones, if you so wish.
Last year in AV we had a fire alarm every Tuesday at 3am for the last three weeks of term . There becomes a point where you stop thinking it's a coincidence .

It only got up to two for us And it was the same fire alarm button that was pressed so they kept us outside for 5 more minutes to try get someone to own up. At least it's stopped going off now.
There's this thing about Westwood that makes it so good yet so out of the way. Westwood gets few applicants (because it is so far away) yet the rooms are massive. Most people who put Warwick as insurance will either end up here (often shared) or will have to live off campus. It does form it's own community and from an outsider's point of view I know two very close blocks and it makes be go
There's just one thing about Westwood (or any other accommodation you definitely don't want to end up in) - if you don't want to end up there then don't put it down and fill up all 6 your choices in order to avoid it. Putting something down a 5th or 6th option will act as a good failsafe, especially if you have lectures in Gibbet Hill and don't want to be 45 minutes away.
Sorry, what did you mean there? Should we fill up all 6 choices or shouldn't we??
Also, are you allowed to put both Benefactors and Jack Martin on your application as JM is ensuite but Benefactors is like half ensuite and half not so you don't really know?

I think so. Not sure about Benefactors as I didn't apply there. All I know is that if you share, you basically have an upstairs and a downstairs. Downstairs has two desks and anything else you like while upstairs had two beds in quite close proximity (within 2ft of each other) and a shared toilet.
Not sure about single situation/if Benefactors is ensuite or not. Seeing as half is ensuite and half is shared between another (same sex) person, I'd guess it counts as ensuite. Further details will probably be provided in the application form.

OK thanks! Your posts have been very helpful regarding my accommodation decision I've just got one more question (for now ), how was the application form structured back when you filled it out? Like how many choices could you put and what kind of questions did you ask??

It will look something like this. It's not likely to have the "off-campus price band" section, and back when I did it there was no deposit so I don't know about that.

Is there not a post in this thread which mentions all of the different on-campus accomodation choices with a singular sentence describing them or is it all just chunks of text?
