Hospital work experience TOMORROW!!!!

Hi everyone,

so i have a placement at a hospital in london tomorrow in the acute medical unit and im confused as to what do i ask the doctor, what will i expect to see.

It depends on the grade of doctor that you're shadowing. But generally, the acute medical unit is often busy and fairly fast paced. You'll see lots of different new patients with quite a wide variety of things wrong with them.

Expect to be on your feet all day, so wear comfortable shoes! Make sure you take lunch and have a drink with you as there probably won't be a formal time for you to sit down and have lunch.

Ask whatever you fancy! You can ask them what they like/dislike about being a doctor, any advice they have, tips on the interview etc. You can ask them about the patients and their conditions. Just remember that the goal of work experience is for you to learn more about the job, rather than to learn about medicine.
