Hi all,

I don't think many people take this module - there's never any talk on it!

If you did do this one, what did you think of the paper yesterday?

Hi, I thought it was an awful paper in some regards with both history teachers saying it was tough! What two questions did you pick? The Conservative Dominance question was beautiful but almost too good in a sense. It was a breadth question which meant that you had to cover considerable ground and interwine Social and Constitutional Reform, Ireland and Foreign Policy amongst the backdrop of Disraeli, Salisbury and Balfour! (balfour lol??) as well as alternate between Gladstones weaknesses and the wider Liberal decline. Very tough! I chose the Labour question and thought that was extremely difficult too. The aims threw me off as it is completely subjective to the writer but the examiner marks alongside objective criteria? Also what were the aims of Labour in 1900? I didn't think they even knew themselves seeing as it was more of a divided collection of trade unionists and several differing socialists groups and societies. Foreign policy question about Gladstone just compleletly threw me off so I didn't bother far too much of a short time span between 1880 - 1885!
