I applied for Human sciences but I am currently in Holland using camp jutbergs wifi.. Kind of nervous about hearing whether I get an interview or not..
anyone got any maths offers frm mansfield yet? im still waiting..... wonder if they send on weekend
Interviews are already coming out (I have one for History & Politics), but because Maths interviews are later than the Arts ones, that might be why you haven't heard yet. In any case, you should expect a decision email early next week If they don't let you know a week before, you can contact them.

Hey! I'm a first year human scientist at Mansfield, feel free to send me a message if you have any questions or anything x
Hi, not to be outdone by almond5, I'm in my first year reading History here at Mansfield; if TSR interviewees have any questions that I might be able to help with, let me know. Good luck

History & Pol applicant here! I think you already asked me about my HAT performance, it must have went really well for me to get an interview!
What are the possible questions they might ask you in interview (for history)? And how is a history interview structured, in general?

Congratulations on getting to interview
Because you are only scheduled for one History interview, whereas I had two for straight History, it's difficult to guess whether yours will be like one of the two I had, or will be a sort of mixture of them both. In my case, one of my interviews was based around my submitted essay, together with one or two points arising from my Personal Statement. The other one required reading of a source passage, which wasn't about a period I had ever come across (so a bit like a verbal version of the second HAT question), plus a more general question about the pros/cons of using IT technology in history research (arising from the fact that my UCAS form mentioned that I worked in IT). The format could be different this year of course.
My interviews were 20/25 minutes, with two tutors. While they are challenging, Mansfield History interviews aren't scary, intimidating or obscure. Best to stay as calm as possible. Enjoy the experience; the food is great at Mansfield, the building is beautiful and the student helpers will be friendly and approachable.
they are not one of the most welcoming of Colleges out there. As an international applicant, I asked here for accommodation for the open day & was offered one. That's all fine and appreciated but no one bothered to tell me they locked the front door after midnight & didn't even ask me at what time apprx. I may arrive there. So in the ensuing mess, by the time I was there after 2 flights and 2 train rides nobody was there in the Porters. Were it not for someone I found by sheer luck I almost slept on the street. So that's Mansfield for ya. Good luck to whoever got in.

This is just a wild guess, but have you recently been unsuccessful in your application to study at Oxford?

Thanks for sharing your experience with me, I now at least vaguely know what to expect. I'll be vigorously reading through my Personal Statement and written work to make sure I can talk about them. Knowing me, I'll be on the edge of a nervous breakdown in interview, but I will do my best to stay calm!
I heard the food is great, now a student there confirmed it woo! I am also very much looking forward to it!
The gate thing is really unfortunate, but I think that's probably just the college, which is well-meaning and warm, being disorganised and making a mistake.

Hi I'm a current his/pol student so I can provide some more information to that of shoshin. In the history interview it is likely that you will be given an extract to study (I had a wood carving) however, on the other hand, because I applied to a different college they didn't really have time to study my PS or essay, therefore neither were mentioned. In politics I was also given an extract to study (based upon the role of charity) and discussion was principally based around this.
