Hi guys i dont quite understand how people are given conditional offers for universities on ucas.. i know that u hav to put ur as levels on the form.. but how do u kno what as grades they want tho?? I kno they specify in the entry requirements for a level grade e.g -AAB but how do they judge whether u will get their a level entry requirements? For example brunel want BBB for a level.. but what how wud they make the offer based on as... And what do u do if you get poor as levels and boost them up to decent a levels? Thanks in advance, much appreciated.

They base the offer they give you off their requirements, if they think you'll get them and your as levels - your as levels are a pretty good indicator of how well you'll do in your a level because those aren't quite far off what you'll actually get; off of these things they'll make you an offer. You should kind of match your as grades with their entry requirements. Hope this helps.

years of experience and they would look at your as grades and predicted grades so if you had abb at as then they d probably feel meeting bbb at a2 would be realistic.

well if you dont get as grades you want then you resit and declare your resits on your ucas and hope the uni will trust you get their entry requirements or you go through clearing if you really want to go to a particular uni.
