I've always wondered, how can anyone be half-Jewish? It doesn't make sense to me. I've heard some people mention that they're half-Jewish but how can that be? Isn't it like someone saying their half-Muslim or half-Christian? Isn't it more the case that they are either Jewish or not Jewish as it is a choice to be Jewish or not?

It can't be an ethnicity any more than any other religion. You choose your religion, not ethnicity. People just need to accept that.

It's the same as how you can be an atheist of arab decent.

If you are talking about the religion I believe that is culturally normally the case.

Well, being Jewish seems to be a religion as well as an ethnicity so it would doubly symbolic. But I know a girl whose dad is Jewish and she seems Jewish too.

What he said was 100% true. Hebrew(semetic israelites) is the ethnicity while judaism is the religion.
