    I would say revise everything but my teacher said if she had to put predictions on the crime and deviance paper she would say Functionalism, Measurements of crime & Realist approach/Solutions to crime

    I had a read through the examiners report and it seems that location, men being over represented in crime and then the ruling class came up but that's from me just trying to infer the question's rather than knowing what they actually are
    Also, after going through them all, age has never come up so a question could be on that this year...

    Hi, does the realist only speak about the solution to crime because I'm looking in my text book, and the realist perspective as well as a little Marxist are the only theories mentioned??

    I'm really confused what's locations and crime?! I have the headings for crime: femenism & gender, ethnicity, interactionism, Marxism, functionalist/sub cultural/subterrenean, constructions of crime (media/policing) solutions to crime, realism/victimisation/locality, measurements of crime

    Yes realism creates solution-left is linked to Marx & right can be linked to new right/functionalism

    These are the predictions from my teacher- hope it helps!

    The following questions have either never appeared before or haven't appeared for a long time on the G673 Crime paper;
    Right realist solutions/general solutions question
    Right realist explanations/ Realist explanations
    Self report surveys/ all ways of measuring crime/ official statistics
    Age and crime
    Subcultural explanations
    Role of the media in the social construction of crime
    Marxist explanations (but there was a general social class question last year)
    Ethnicity and victims (although there has been a recent general victims question)
    Police as an agent of social control (but again, there was a question last year about the law being used to oppress)
    Neo Marxist explanations

    a good theorist to know is heidensohn as she says a lot about women in crime such as why they tend to be ignored as sociology/criminology is male stream argues it's due to vicarious identification/male dom of crime etc.
    Reasons for less female crime is idea of socialisation/social roles(ann Oakley). women are socialised to be caring etc and these characteristics don't support crime also idea of social control in home excluded from subcultures (mcrobbie-bedroom cultures) also how male dominance of judicial system heidensohn argues is why women aren't convicted (chivalry thesis) but some argue against and say harsher punishments for women as doubly deviant (Farringdon and Morris) also women's opportunity to commit crime in home/work/public etc.
