The Hall looks really good.

Passfield Hall has recently undergone a £7m refurbishment and was officially reopened by the mayor of Camden on 16th November 2006. Passfield will be open to the public this Christmas vacation, from the 9th December - 7th January, offering great value B&B accommodation throughout the holiday period.

Passfield Hall comprises ten late-Georgian houses, in Bloomsbury, configured in three blocks surrounding a walled garden. Ideally located for the West End, Covent Garden, Oxford Street, the British Museum and British Library.

Yeh it looks good, whats the chances of getting this accommodation as a top choice??? anybody know how competitive it is?

Reply 3

I'm gonna put Passfield for the second choice!

Location's pretty good, rooms look really nice and clean (dunno if it's only 'looking' nice:rolleyes: ) and the building is pretty!

But the thing is that there aren't many people....

Can you get single rooms there?

The pictures in that gallery from that site are the same for every residence you click on! Is that the interior of one of the residences? If so, does anyone know which one?

 When can we start applying for accomodation, surely not yet?!

Reply 7

People with offers can start applying on January 31st.

Reply 8

but that's unfair for the people who dont hear from lse until like april or something. i havent heard from all of my unis yet so realistically wont make a decision for probs a couple of months yet. wont i be kinda disadvantaged then?

Reply 9

Yeah I don't have an offer either, but I don't think there's a huge disadvantage in applying later - I may be wrong but I think most people get their first choice anyway, from what I've heard.

anyone at passfield? are the rooms really as pretty as they show on the website?

Reply 11

Well they've just been refurbished so I'm presuming they are - the only downfall is that you have to share in your 1st year.

Not if you are applying as a first year undergraduate..normally they allocate shared rooms to first year undergraduates (twin or triplet shared rooms)..the showers/toilets are not in your rooms, but they are quite hot. It's a newly renovated place, and it's very very nice...meals are pretty good too...and it is only a few minutes from Holborn station/LSE...so in terms of location...good too.

If you guys really want Passfield, there is a possibility that you might be able to swap your rooms once you get there. But bear in mind that it does not always work.

Currently residing in Passfield

- Newly refurbished, best rooms/toilets showers around.
- Extremely Sociable hall
- Excellent facilities
- Excellent Bar
- Meals are decent but do tend to vary in quality, but there are plenty of options
- Don't be put off with sharing a room, its not as bad as it my seem.
- Excellent Location

Highly recommended.

Good to know, thanks Nero!

Can we choose our room mates? Or LSE people will allocate it randomly for us?

Thanks..xx

Reply 18

I think its allocated randomly, I'm not sure if you can ask in advance to be with a friend who you know is going... :s-smilie:

I think when you fill out the application form, there is a form for sharing and you can put in a name of a person you would prefer to share with. However, they may or may not take it into account..depends on vacancies, availability of rooms etc. But I think it's pretty much random allocation.
