Ah, but rowing is such a team effort, blaming the Novice seems a little comme il ne faux pas
Woo, a great day.

Coxing with Nines this morning (and boy are THEY hardcore!) was good fun. And they asked me back as well. I'm slowly adding to my list of clubs I've coxed for! That was great fun, although the boat (by ERB) was massively uncomfortable. Oh, and there was some assertive coxing on my part this morning that was fun.

And then came a pub lunch with t'gf in teh Green Dragon, after a cycle ride to Baitsbite and back.

And then coaching Simoco, and then coxing the boat on the way back. And then the CUCBC coxes' talk for bumps.

Overall a pretty fun day!

Ditting Suck, were you sitting at 7 in the LMBC boat that managed to somehow not see my Simoco eight in front of you and then plow into them...? I was coaching from the bank and was tempted to shout rude, patronising things at you. Getting into the coaching spirit, obviously...! :p:

You Trinity snobs are so pretentious. We'll give you a taste of St Catharine's grit when we bump you.

FaT M1 were looking HOT today. If they get the headship, Jesus will have to do something AMAZING to take it off them.

In other news, I'm actually going to die on the first day.

Yeah, FaT look good, but as Willa said Jesus are monsters. If Jesus are still around on station with FaT coming out of Ditton, I'd put money on them reeling in FaT down the reach. The problem Jesus have is that their start isn't that quick, so if FaT were to drop them early then they may struggle.

We gained about two lengths on them...

I forgot to mention that this distance was probably gained after our boat crabbing. I hear you guys had a bit of crab trouble yourselves.

IF we had started at the proper race distance then you would have been bumped.

So don't go inflating your ego too much eh rich boy?

I can assure you that your M4 will be the ones who will be humilated on Tuesday. Heads on pikes and all. We will not be getting spoons this year.

We were actually catching you pretty severely until the damned novice in our boat crabbed. So don't talk about being emabarrassed eh?

Hmm, as the coach of the M5 boat and a rower in M4, you weren't really catching up.... There may have been some optimistic calls from your coach on catching M5 - standard bank party practise! Hope you keep Eddie's off you though.

Pah. We shall see on the day.

Good hunting.
Not only did we row the whole short bumps course at rate 40-36, we then bumped our W2 and sucessfully held them off when they swapped round to chase us.

I know W1 are meant to be faster than W2, but it's still pretty good given that we were knackered from the race piece and they'd done buggerall!

Never underestimate the power of going off Head. Caius were faster than Clare last Lents, no contest. But the clear water and (possibly more) the amazing feeling of rowing over Head does a LOT for you.

Plus I never have appreciated Jesus amazing talent for bigging themselves up to the irritation of everyone else.

Sitting at 4 actually, but yes.

Rude, patronising things could have gone both ways, then. Fair enough, our cox made a mistake. But she couldn't really rectify it since none of us could hear her over your girls' shouting! That's just not cricket!

hmm....lets see what difference it makes to Caius M1 on wednesday

Anyway, I'm probably being over optimistic since I'd rather Jesus went head than FaT.....for some reason I just can stand FaT, they always come across as so arrogant.

 have you been relegated to 4? Weren't you at 6 before?

I didn't really see it as relegated, but yes

We lost one of our stroke to M1 when someone quit, and pulled someone up from M3 who happened to be quite a bit taller than me (and therefore a better choice for 6, 'twas decided).

They're not really girls- they're pissed-off middle aged women. You really don't want to mess with them at the moment... :p:

Anyway, I'm not really complaining much, I know it was an honest mistake, your coach appologised straight off and no damage was done so it doesn' matter. Apart from the frayed temper of my 5 and the cox...

In other news, bumps starts  Although I nearly got my arm pulled out my socket when my coach got bow four to tap it forwards whilst I was still holding the bung...!

Get used to it - you want to be as far forward as possible when the gun goes! Besides, you were late :p:
1. Yes I was.

2. It helps if you put the alarm clock on bleep mode, not vibrate mode...

3. We were far forwards, at the limit of the chain, when they tapped it!

4. Nick's doing the real thing anyway so that reassures me.

That's just because we're better than you.

NB: All points made above may contain banter. Not recommended for boaties with sense of humour failures. Post should not be taken seriously.

Probably because there's just SO MANY PEOPLE. How many men's boats do you have? Eight or something?

So if I randomly invaded Trinity and then shot three quarters of all the boaties, at complete random, to bring your boatclub down to what's probably the average size, would you still be so good? :p:
