Shocking that this thread has fallen from Page 1!

Anyway, gloat time: we won Nines Regatta today! We are a very, very happy crew, especially considering we beat Kings I (ahead of us in Bumps)

Are you LMBC M2? That's my old crew.

We won too! Beat Fitz...but only just. Actually a really miserable race (particularly as i have mild food poisoning). But still, we got pots!
Well, we managed to beat Caius Grads by a length and a quarter, which was quite good, but were outclassed by the beefcake Homerton boat with two Blues in that we rowed against in the semi-final. I also got the finish position wrong and wound down too early. It wasn't properly marked- grr! Either way, we kept about a canvas down from this Homerton boat throughout so that wasn't too bad.

I somehow doubt that two Blues will be in the final Homerton boat in division 3 of bumps... *cough* ringers *cough*

Pretty miserable weather! Though my (American) bowman did try and order pizza whilst we were banked up by Chesterton, which was amusing!

I've banned all the others and I'm depressed at my lack of Engineering knowledge. I'm also regretting not choosing Phys Natsci. :frown:

Cut me some slack.
Held off LMBC 1 from First Post Corner, and then going down the reach- we were at 26, they at 30-odd and they couldn't overtake. THAT was sweet. Go Clare M2!

9 Clare M2 guys and our coach, and your coach, and LMBC M1 say it's true! :aetsch: You should have heard the exasperation in your coach's voice, "You'll have to wind down... *sigh* " :p:

"We" being the Addies boat, I'm assuming? Was this Cantabs boat missing half the crew and ferrying blades around at the time? That was rather amusing.

No, they were just sitting on the Reach. We were doing a sort-of piece. Silly mistake, but N got a little irate
*bump*

"Hold it up!"

(Sorry,topical joke....)
Bumped Kings W1 within 20m of the motorway bridge.

Rather chuffed as we expected to have to keep pushing Queens away, but they didn't gain any length.

Jesus M5 vs Jesus M6 today, should be good

bumped Darwin W1 in about 35 strokes! We got our first whistle half way through our start... And to think we were worried they might catch New Hall first...

CCAT W1 today...

Well, that was fun! I think we hold the record for being bumped in the shortest ever possible time, though it was down to an accident rather than us being totally incompetent.

We weren't pushed out straight, and then when the bank party tried to get 2 to tap it, she cleverly backed it instead (ok, maybe a little bit of incompetence). So essentially we were totally wonky when the gun went, half the crew were still trying to manoeuvre and therefore missed the first stroke, and we rowed very gracefully into a bush, while St Edmunds rowed straight past us, not really realising what had gone on! Ah well. I hope we get to row a little bit further tomorrow.
