I frequently get a bit carried away and get a bit close (and then get shouted at by coaches who are upset that a womens boat is going faster than their mens boat)!

Brilliant stuff.
Was really impressed with our performance today in catch Tit Hall at First Post, esp as we've got two subs due to assorted injuries. Today was actually our first outing as a crew. Tomorrow we get a third sub, better still!
Oh, I'd love it if we got blades AND M3 headship. That'd be so great. We think we're a smidge better than FaT M3 (they're a beer boat), so any crew they can bump, so can we. Such is the hope. Bring on Selwyn.

I wouldn't count on that, you lost to FaT IV in Pembroke regatta, and FaT III are considerably better.

Unfortunately, it happens. I mean, luckily Peterhouse behind us were rowing more enthusiastically than speedily, or I'd've been equally annoyed!

Bumps is unfair; it's all part of the game. I doubt you'd've declined a bump that happenned because the crew in front of you had to stop..... :p:

Hmm, I suppose that's a possibility. I had assumed that as it was a beer boat they'd be more power than technique, but I suppose they might be ex-first boaters etc.
Mind you, Pembroke Regatta saw us with two M4 rowers and FaT M4 with a M1 sub, so

FaT IV's sub was from FaT III, which is ex-1st/2nd boat rowers. They will be going fast.

You've got a decent chance, FaT III should bump up into the 2nd division comfortably and you didn't look too bad at Pembroke.

Yeah, top of the division might be possible if we clean up our starts and whatnot, but by M3 headship I actually meant highest placed M3 boat. At least one Jesus crew has to beat their respective FaT crew, for pride's sake.

I was kind of annoyed we didn't start straight as apparently we lost ground then gained on you before you bumped Tit hall. Tit hall apparently are looking spacky this year, so hopefully we can bump them before getting bumped by Christ's (who are looking very impressive this year).

This is true. Hall II were rather pants at Pembroke regatta.

Hmm, maybe. I didn't notice anyone getting close to us, tbh.

We apparently did rate 38 all the way up to First Post before dropping to 34 for the last bit before bumping. I thought it seemed a bit high
