Go Caius W2!
Though my girlfriend caught an ejector crab on Thursday and has just come down with a stomach bug and won't be able to race tomorrow :frown:

Yeah, I had to Hold it up because of that. Then stroke's seat fell off, wrecking any chance of us catching up with anything. So my bumps yesterday consisted of 2 starts and winding it down at the motorway bridge...tum-ti-tum...

Edit: actually, on closer inspection it's sunny in that photo - what day is it from?! And seriously, how did I row past without noticing?!?!
Tuesday or Wednesday, probably- it's only just been put on Tideway Slug.

Minty fresh, and just one calorie! Oh, wait...

Actually I believe that they are three calories. "Three hours of freshness for just three calories".

Christ's were absolutely massive. We held them off till Plough Reach, rate 39 round First Post corner. Our best row of bumps by far.

Bad luck on spoons Chewwy :frown: My friend was in the Magdalene boat that bumped you

Anyone else see the final women's first division race today? Our crew got to within a quarter of a length but didn't quite get head of the river. Really annoying. Still, our W2 got blades. Probably best not to mention the men's boat performances...

Anyway, I reckon I'll get back into rowing next term, bumps looked like a lot of fun.

Hmm, I think I've had enough. I'm certainly intending to quit now, but there's always the danger I'll get dragged back down

I quit before this term, at Mich. BCD. Fat lot of good THAT did!

****

3 subs on bowside today! Good start on LMBC III, taking half a length off straight away, but they bumped Fitz II in the gut. Went for the gap quite nicely, and ended up with the best row of the week and finishing 6 lengths clear of FaT IV behind us. Hurrah!

It's the first time since 2001 or something that a Clare Lents M2 has gone up overall
Tail of the River. Once again had to hold it up for carnage. Still, twas all fun and games!!!

Yeah, good rowing by you guys to hold them off for so long. St Edmunds inevitably bumped us pretty quick, since I think a quater of their boat are ex-blues rowers.

disaster.

I saw you today. :p: Well, I presume I saw you but I don't know which one you were...

Gutted Clare M1 didn't get their blades, but apparently both crews rowed really well and they didn't seem too suicidal about it. Also very pleased W1 didn't get spoons.

James, I was cycling with the FaT boat chasing you, it was really quite hilarious hearing them lie to their crew about how close you were!

mm, i presumed it was you. quite why, i don't know, just had a feeling. you're the only marshal person who talked to us, making you the nicest:smile:

i was at 6, staying in the boat because i HATE getting my feet wet..

Shouldn't you be drowning your sorrows at BCD about now?

I sort of wondered if you'd realise - there aren't that many Clare umpires out there, after all, and your boat did need help pulling in! Hope this hasn't been enough to put you off bumps forever...

What is it with your cox and his inability to park? It's really not rocket science; the two times I've seen him do it the marshals have had to take over his job.

Sorry for the rudeness, I'm drunk having done the hundred sherry challenge. Again.

But, interestingly, not so drunk I can't type straight. Cool.

We reckon 4-5 lengths clear at the end. Could have been longer, we rowed over at 30 pretty neatly. Best row yet; it's a shame Fitz M2 were so pants because there was enough GRR and enough technique to get LMBC III. We'd certainly have got Eddies I and denied them blades had Caius III been faster off the start.

Sorry for any offence, I'm drunk and will probably edit tomorrow.
