Superb. I was concerned, having heard that they had a blue boat rower, but I suppose there's only so much difference one man can make. The mighty Jesus M4 shall surge on unchecked!

CCAT W2 will, I imagine, be a bit rubbish. CCAT generally aren't great, and CCAT W1 have just lost a rower - I would assume they'll poach one from W2 and leave it weaker for it.

They do have a blue in their boat- only the Blue is from rowing the womens' boat race, not the mens', seeing as the Blue is a woman! (She's hard as nails and would out-ergo you easily, but isn't Thorsten Engelmann if you get my drift!) There was a guy in Blues stash hanging around and coaching, but as far as I know he's not in their boat.

If you triple overbump and we spoon, the mighty surge of Jesus M4 might even reach the dizzying heights of station 5 :p:
i sure hope Caius MI row over. do we not all hope that yes?

Hmm, I believe someone (Peter Marston/Marsden? I've only heard it said, not seen it written down) is listed in their boat in the bumps programme. We shall see. Luckily, we've got me to balance him out.

Yes, we're low down, but only because we didn't have me in the boat last year. If anything we'll be challenging for *cough4thboatcough* Headship this year.

No :p: I'd predict you'll go down between 1 and 3 places. Apparently Jesus M1 are faster than you, or have been in sparring, so I'd be surprised if FaT weren't too.

Caius will keep the headship easy. Pembroke will take the women's one.
wahoo.

Clare Hall men have had a reasonable time in the last few years, IIRC. But they're very variable and I've not been on the river at all, so I don't know what they're like now.
clare hall gave up half way through the race today, probably thinking to save themselves for tomorrow. what they didn't know is that they probably could've got a like.... quadruple overbump on us if they'd tried, we were knackered.

WAS NOT EXPECTING TO HAVE TO ROW OVER.

tomorrow i guess we'll almost certainly be involved in a bump, but with who, it's hard to say..
rowed over on station with Downing. Knackered- first proper race I've ever done and didn't disgrace myself.
We had a row over, and contrary to all expectatin i actually rather enjoyed it. Plus we had several lengths on ccat II, chasing us, so, tomorrow we bump Darwin II (i think that's right) or that's the plan at least...

We kind of screwed them over by stopping in front of them.

The bump on Churchill took forever, three whistles by the motorway bridge and yet somehow we failed to bump until Grassy. We died after starting way too hard, though the problem was no doubt exacerbated by the two hungover crew members. LMBC tomorrow...it's going to be even longer
Curses, bumped by FAT III. We got a great start, got within station of Selwyn and nicked half a length off FAT. Then we lost any advantage with a bad line around first post, but gained on a completely knackered Selwyn crew on the next straight, pulling them back within station. An awful line around grassy saw the FAT crew eat us up and we got bumped just outside grassy. Disappointed to get bumped, especially when the crew behind weren't actually faster in a straight line, but that's bumps, i guess. Our cox had never been in our boat before- a series of unfortunate events left us coxless and with a crew of 6 so I guess we should just be grateful we're racing.

It's my first bumps and that truly was the most painful, horrible 2 minutes of my life ever. Looking forward to tomorrow already  Tomorrow has 'row over' written all over it in 10 foot hight letters.
I definitely prefer coxing to rowing! It's FAR more stressful to be in the non-moving seat, true, and it isn't just sitting there, but it's far less painful and far less effort *gasps*

Coxing is a bit of a thankless task. People resent it that you sit there and shout while they do the work, but if you get the line wrong, it can lose you the race (as happened to us today). No-one ever appreciates good coxing.
You appreciate good coxing when you've experienced bad coxing... We appreciate our cox, and she knows we do too.
We got to First Post before the 6-blue Eddies crew caught us. If the crews in front of us had been slightly slower to clear we might have got a technical - there seemed to be 4 bumps there in our division!
Homerton chasing us tomorrow - we'll see what we can do. We didn't give our firsts a chance and they rowed over!

passed you on the way home.. you guys look huge!
ah man. sad sad day. two blue boaters, two other triallists, a triallist cox, a first year junior UK rower, and other guys who've maintained the headship before, a yellow boat, and we still get bumped. what the hell do we need to do.

Proof that shiny yellow boats go faster than slightly less shiny, eggy yellow ones.
