well, overlap is sufficient. it's on the notes of the cucbc website.

Overlap with bowball past the cox, though... overlap in itself isn't sufficient. Thing is, it's the umpire's decision.
Our cox assures us that there wasn't enough overlap and though she was about to concede, they hadn't actually bumped us. If they had, presumably the umpires would have shouted at us to concede- that didn't happen. They happily sat there while we tried to chase magdelene and only decided the bump had happened after we'd rowed over.

What happened in M3 division? Peterhouse-Hughes-Tit Hall are all listed at TBC on the CUR website.

Massed carnage. Fitz ejector crabbed opposite where FAT bumped and LMBC bumped Jesus just around that corner. So tit hall, and everyone following them ploughed into the maggie and jesus boats. Chaos.

We had an amazing day today! Rowed over in front of Christ's III and then bumped Churchill III! No more sandwich boat for Sidney M2...

Six races down, one to go!

interestingly caius M1 seem better when we lose a cubc member and have to make use of a sub who wasn't planning on rowing in any boat at all..

Oh, are bumps on?

well, caius M3 have three people who were in Caius M1 last term..

And we all know how good they were...

Indeed - and if a crash happens, they are able to award technical bumps if they felt a bump was imminent (which, with overlap by first post, it pretty much was). I guess it sounds pretty controversial considering they caused the crash, but it's kind of allowed - though someone really should have told the crew rowing on.

Good luck today guys!
Bloody spoons. Am in such a bad mood right now - we were catching the Sidney boat that bumped us yesterday, but the fact that, since our sub came in, we can't start that well means that we'd lost a length to Queens' II by the Motorway bridge, and although we held them off to the gut, it was a bit of a lost cause.
Seriously gutting - it had all looked so good 2 weeks ago.

Anyway, well done to all crews with blades, and may everyone enjoy their BCDs tonight!
We got spoons too :frown: It sucks. We hadn't thought we were a bad crew but obviously we weren't as good as we'd hoped.

Still, we had a good laugh rowing back where we all swapped sides, put our cox at stroke and had our stroke coxing. I think this did result in a fine for bad coxing though...

unlucky about it. we were the crew that bumped eddies(must be hard for them to take ha) and u.one sub doesnt make a huge difference, i.e. losing half a length straight away.

generally, caius did very badly in these mays, especially the first boat, stacked with blues.

You were a very good crew. Congrats on your blades.
Our main problem is that we're half a division too high - really should be somewhere in the middle of division 3. That'll come in 2 years time! And the sub makes a bit of a difference as he hadn't rowed in a term, was on the wrong side, and had only had one outing before bumps...

what's everyone doing this year? including freshers, have you started yet?

i'm rowing for Caius M2, has been pretty agonising so far... outings in small boats all week, and in the past three days an hour erg, a 50 minutes circuit session with M1, and an 18k (!?!?!?!??!) erg. woo woo woo.
