midsummer common also seems to be... flooding? no idea where that water is actually coming from though..

oh well. i presume it'll be gone by thursday. the cucbc email suggests they're not that worried.

I'll have to go into town to see the river height, sounds amazing.
Can't say I'm looking forward to Pembroke Regatta with no practice starts or substantial pieces and with 2 subs in the boat, at least we only have Clare Hall first up.
 Just had my outing cancelled. Why my captain couldn't have told me yesterday, so that I didn't need to get up this early, I don't know. It's not like anything's changed since then. Ah well, back to bed.

At this rate we won't have had an outing since sunday when we do pembroke regatta... if it's not cancelled :frown:

Same, if theres not going to be a green flag for 60 hours, then we're ******. Our last outing in an eight was Robinson Head, which I didn't even race in. And we're up against opponents we haven't really got a hope of beating anyway, so Saturday should be a short day...

Ooh, now it's only yellow.

Fuuuuuck, a red flag is now certain for all of thursday and 'likely friday as well'. We are ******, basically. Here's hoping they at least cancel the race too...
I would really like it if the race was indeed cancelled... i have more work than i can fit in if it's not - that might just give me a chance...
Hmm, might or might not get in an outing or two before Trent on Sunday.

Maybe we should go out now, it'll be good tideway practice.
The Blues went out today

It's been a red flag all day, so shhhhhhhhh. Ve saw nussink.

That said, I heard they were doing some kind of PR in their shiny new £20,000 boat, and nearly had a nasty incident with a big log floating past.

Oh, yeah, the Duke of Edinburgh was naming a boat today, wasn't he? I think he unveiled some statue thing of Darwin here earlier.

**** me, Pembroke is on. This is just going to be embarassing. We've not even practiced our starts once this term... Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck.

ooooh, i'm subbing into M1 for bedford on sunday!

GOODBYE WEEKEND:smile::smile::smile::smile:

Our cox isn't able to make the race tomorrow... because she has 2 morning lectures. On the positive side, we might end up with someone who can actually cox well.

that's actually the worst excuse ever.

her options:

a) let down 8 people. in fact, the whole college.
b) have to copy up two hours worth of lecture notes.

Yeah, we seem very short on coxes, so not sure if we'll find a sub. We even have 2 coxes rowing, we're so short of people in general.

Meh. Lost to Magdalene III due to a scrappy start and low rating (not helped by the fact our stroke pair were working at churchill ball last night), but not by an embarrassing amount, I don't think.

As expected we got beaten, but we did get to go wading into the river up to our knees, which was an absolute riot. So not all bad. We also managed to get some sympathy cheers from a couple of random girl boats, which wasn't distracting at all.

Where were you sat in your boat Chewwy?
