Well, that went better than expected. Not going to win or anything, but a reasonable piece given our prior training.

i hope there were photos. because i/we were looking gooood.
there was definitely someone photgrpahing the boats, but i don't know who...

Deedle, just heard you guys managed to beat W1's time by quite a margin, well done!

Our race was a bit scrappy, but felt good in places. Was our only full length piece of the term so far so to be expected I suppose (and only time today's crew had rowed together as an 8). Has made me pleasantly optimistic of the term ahead.

FTB, you were our marshall I think?

Anyone know when the results come out?

Results are out now here:

Gah, we got a pretty **** time, a minute behind the crews around us in Bumps. We need to get a lot faster quickly or we're on for spoons again from the looks of it.

Edit: Looks like our girls boats were entered in the wrong divisions - entered according to boat name (i.e. W1 in 1st Mays) even though W1 are actually in 2nd Mays division. Same with W2 - Deedle your crew should be second in the 'Other Mays' category, not last in the '2nd Mays' one.

ok so i am depressed.

i have essentially missed out on the opportunity of telling people for the rest of my life that i was head of the cam, thanks to our cox.

gay gay gay gay gayyyyyyyyyyy.
If it makes you feel any better, i'm quite sure that nobody else would care that you were head of the cam if you told them

Merci bcp! I was still quite annoyed though - we could have knocked a fair bit of time off. Jesus were in the middle of the river, we were going to overtake them, so moved right over to the side, still had a clash, lost momentum and Clare tried to overtake both of us on the other side, but we were free in time to hold them off. Awesome race though : )

and yeah! I thought something looked wrong! Ok, that's kinda cool. We weren't bottom of our division then : ) We came second! woop. And we came joint 58th with our coach : )

Well done everyone!

Now, who's doing H2H next week?

I'm doing Head2Head, twice :s-smilie: , we're entering both divisions because our strokeman thinks 2x2ks are fun. Or something about it being good training or whatever.

yes, ftb was marshalling the start. I was the one who took all your finish times.

The whole event went really well i felt. Our only properly (more than 5 minutes )late division was the Georgina's fault.
Saw Eddies M1 out today. I'm glad I'm not Corpus.

they're pretty rubbish actually. our cox told them they couldn't pass, we went off and pushed away from them.

on the way home we were following them. kept having to stop.

Today's goal: to not get overtaken by the women starting behind us
^always a good idea...

Does anyone happen to know if last years results are online anywhere? I've had a look, but can't find them. I have no concept of what a good time for today would be (and obviously it might have been more/less windy last year), it'd be interesting to compare. That said, i think we had a good row, so it kind of doesn't matter...
