Does UCL interview LLB Undergraduates???

hey, does anyone know? I thought that they only interviewed mature applicants and things.

Anyone willing to share past interview experiences and any questions asked for Law would be much appreciated.

Are interviews at UCL similar to Oxbridge interviews? Please say no!!

Thanks so much for all the help.

They interview mature applicants and the majority of those who are applying for an LLB with study abroad. They don't interview 'normal' applicants for their standard LLB.

Ah, that's good to know. Although I have a feeling that (if they're interested in me, even) that I may have an interview due to dropping out of uni this year and reapplying...

I think she already dropped out.
Yeah I have my interview pretty soon. I'm applying for M145 Law and Maitrise. I think 10 mins of my interview will be in French, but I've not been asked to prepare anything. Feeling a weee bit nervous...

Any past experiences? Anyone know how it generally goes?

Yeah, I dropped out just before the Christmas holidays.

Hopefully it won't affect this year's application TOO much...

You are correct that a portion of your interview will be in French (you will be expected to be very fluent) and that it is not necessary to prepare anything. I would also ensure that you have very good reasons for wishing to study the Maitrise as opposed to the straight M100. It is also advisable to know a bit about EU law and why you are interested in it. PM me if you need anymore information, as I know quite a lot about the Maitrise selection process.
How do you know so much RIGTC, being a medicine applicant?

I have a family connection working at the UCL Law School. I have the pleasure of hearing all about the admissions procedures over dinner!

Awesome, do you think you could get me a place at UCL law school? :P
Thanks RGTC, that's really kind of you. I think I might take you up on that information offer!

Any mature people who have been interviewed for straight Law care to share any experiences? What kind of things might a straight Law person be asked? I'm guessing it's similar to Oxbridge interviews, being based mainly around current affairs?
I think this has already been discussed. Probably very similar to oxbridge, with stuff about "why law", "why now" (after all you are a mature applicant) etc, really provided you have decent answers I can't imagine it will be much of a problem! Thinking about it too much in advance can make your answers sound forced and half the skill is in being to just reel stuff off as you go, rather than over-rehearsing.

I personally wouldn't worry, too much anyway . Good luck.

They'll probably be the normal type of questions:

'Why Law?' 'Why UCL?'

My friend was interviewed for law at UCL. I'll call him up tomorrow and ask the type of questions he got. I'll get back to you on it.

oh rite sorry if this has been discussed before but I couldn't find any thread specific for UCL, so I just thought I'd double check some things.. but yh it's true that there's no point worrying, thanks.

And Verita, wow that would be really great, thank you so much

I got an offer without interview though.
I think that unless you're a mature aplicant, you don't get interviewed from what can be discerned from this thread. You're not special or anything .

It's been said about a gagillion times: unless you're a mature student, international student, or applying for law with a language, you will not get an interview.
yes but i am an applicant for law with a language so lets talk about that!
