*Prods Zac here, wherever he may be...*

Apart from that, Aubrey House is slap bang in the middle between Avenue Campus (literally a min down the road) and about 5/10min walk to Highfield...but as I said, Zac's the one to ask :p:

Zac is probably asleep...

As he normally is in most of his lectures! They even have a 'lecture napping society'!

Hrmmmmmmmmm. Aubrey house is really nice. There aren't any flats and the rooms just open out onto corridors. This has benefits and drawbacks. Problem is you need to work harder to forge friendships because you're not stuck with the same group of people, but by the same token that means you aren't in a flat full of people you don't get on with.

Rooms are pretty nice, however it's a bit of a lottery. Me and a friend both went with standard and his room is massive and I'm stuck in something barely larger than a closet!

Walking distances are great; 8 min to Highfield and a couple of minutes to Avenue; it's literally down the road.

And the social life ranges from crap to great depending on who you are. The JCR is VERY drink oriented (think binge drink), so if you're idea of a good time is to get completely smashed out of your head then this place is for you! :p: . To be honest I'm not that sort of person so I don't take part in JCR socials, but those are going to form a pretty small part of your social life no matter who you are; most of the time you'll just be doing stuff with your friends or societies you've joined.

Oh and we have a great quadrangle in the middle of the halls, nice to lounge about on during a hot day and a place to be (slightly!) noisy at night without pissing off the neighbours.

I RESENT THAT! >.<, if I'm always asleep then how did I pass last semesters modules then? eh? :p:

Anyway, I'm signing off, I'm off to sleep! mwahahaha.
Just some guy

Gym and swimming pool, squash courts are on highfield campus. But pitches for team games I believe are all up at Wide Lane.. someone correct me if I'm wrong!

Hello - whole new subject sorry!!!

Just wondering what South Hill is like specifically because it does a 34 week contract which is all I need. Just generally the sizing, location, moderness etc. Also does anyone know the contract terms available for Terrace 2 & the fees & what they are like?

Thanks very much

meh, you should be fine, normally I'm absolutely awful at forging freindships but I managed fine.

...then again come to think of it there are 2 guys on our corridor who we never see or speak to :s (just don't arrive late! You've got 2 moving in days, go on the early one)
Any idea which accommodation (self catered and en suite preferably) is closest for someone studying economics and finance ??

Yup, Football, Rugby, Rounders, Cricket, Lacrosse, Hockey, Netball (Outdoor courts, some of it is played in the sports hall But that could Jus be intra-mural) Tennis etc are all up at the Widelane grounds But its not that much of a trek. The U1A goes up to the train station then Its just across the road.

The Sports centre is great btw, Its pretty new and so looks funky.. Heh Huuge glass window looks ito the pool and you can see up to the gym and all.

Economics I think is centered around Highfield (The most common campus)and in the murray building, and Im assuming maths maybe as well? If so your nearest is Highfield Halls(5 mins odd), Glen Eyre (10 mins) , Or Even Wessex Lane. (15-20)

Maths = Ugliest building ever.

Where is the Murray building? I have an exam in there but no idea where it is.. is it prettier than maths?

Behind the Maths building if I remember rightly...been in there for a few computer lab sessions, almost got lost once  Dunno about the prettyness, didn't think the Maths building was all that bad...bit old fashioned but hey.

/biased-ness :p:

Yeap as said its behind maths, so if you go down those stairs and keep walking around the side you will see it. That or you can get to it if you go Into the main Management entrance (Building 2) near interchange, and walk through the tunnel bit.

Luckily my exam's been changed to Garden Court so no problems with getting lost anymore!
hey i don't know if anyone's asked this yet but....when i went to the open day i swear that they said that we would get sent a questionnaire to fill in so that they could put us in rooms near people who we have stuff in common with. however i haven't got one. am i right in saying this or am i just hearing things?
