Maths at Nottingham?

I may go to Nottingham University to study Maths but at the moment i’ve got no reason to commit myself to study there.

Advice?

You mean you want to study maths but you don't like nottingham or you don't know about nottingham or you don't want to do maths at all? Are you trying to choose between unis? Go and visit and see if you like it here is my advice. xx

Right, I do maths here and to be honest the course is fine, and most of the lecturers are pretty good. One piece of advice if you do come here, no matter how drunk you get or how tired you are, make sure you pay attention in FPM lectures. If someone had told me that earlier I may not have been sat here revising something which I don't have a clue how to do. And when I say revising I mean writing on here because revision at this point, for me, is futile :smile:

I do maths at Nottingham too..and yeh if you come here pay attention in FPM..I have been staring at this page for the last hour and its not going in. Exam in 11 hours. Cant be good.

I think I can get 40% in FPM, thats after concentrating in most lectures and revising it flat out for 3 days with 5hrs sleep a day. 10 and a half hours to go!

lol, anyways... yeah Maths in nottingham is good. i was attracted here by the flexibility on modules, and they let you take a number of credits outside maths to count towards the year.

I think I bagged a pass on FPM, but not much more. That's definitely my advice to any freshers next year, pay attention to that module. The others you can pick up cos you started it at A level, but FPM is nothing like and so you actually do need to learn it

yeah the exam wasn;t too bad in the end. i mean i think i passed, which is all i need lol. (55% would be nice since im doin 4yr course). def check out nottm for maths, apparently 1st yr at other unis r way to demanded in comparision
