it doesnt bother me if someone talks to me about it. you might not need to say it though. just telling them you dont feel up to it should be enough

As if this really needed to be anonymous...
Just say you don't want to go out, why do you even need a reason? If you want to tell them I'm sure they won't be disgusted. Contrary to popular belief, men are aware that women have periods. :P

Hah!

Seriously, OP, they won't mind if you blame your period but I usually go for "I don't feel well". Works perfectly fine without any social discomfort whatsoever.

"Sorry guys I can't come out tonight..."

"Oh, go on!" "Why not?"

"I just can't..."

"No, tell us why not!"

"It's my period - and my mooncup is really uncomfortable..."

*thunk* guys pass out from shock/pain/male revulsion
Details aren't needed. Just say you aren't feeling too good.
Yeah, just say you don't feel up to it. I think Yoda has a rather accurate response there. Some guys are fine with the subject, but there are quite a few who'll freak out over it.
err tmi

just say you arent feeling too good and are looking forward to an early night

dont tell them your on your period, becuase it might freak them out, i dont like the world, it gives me mental images, especially because in high school, some girl did one on her chair and my form tutor told my mate to clean it up. So like just make up an excuse to your guy mates really.
I must say, actually, some men don't quite understand - one of my male friends recently said to me, 'there's pain????'

I always say I have a stomach ache, since then clutching my stomach kind of makes sense...
Yeah us mature guys can handle it. But you needn't give the details! You can just say you're not feeling good. If they press you, you can say it's "that time of the month!".

Ok, I was going out tonight but I don't feel up to it because it's that time of the month.
The question is...do I actually tell the reason to my guy friends? How do men usually feel about talking about periods?? I don't want to gross them out haha.

Well if it was me i wouldnt mind you saying its because your on your period, but yes with some guys it grosses them out abit so if your not sure just say your ill.
'Time of the month' should cover it. No need for diagrams and progress reports.

Exactly - I don't even see the need for time of the month. You're not lying either way.

I mean, even if you were to tell them the truth, they'd probably understand and move on, but it can be quite unsettling to hear.
