well i dont see y chemiacl engineering would be any different to interviews for any other course, its not like u need to wear lab coats or anything
i had an interveiw for civil engineering and i wore jeans, smartish jumper/sweater, converse and a black courdory suit jacket, the smart casual does it for me
as long as its not too informal or scruffy, the interviers wont mind
Wear a suit. Looks professional and you show that you take the interview seriously. Looks sloppy in my opinion to go to an interview in jeans, but thats just me maybe.

:hmmm: God people take it so seriously. I wore jeans and a T-shirt/jumper, the majority of people in suits look like complete goons - if you want to stand out, you're not going to do so when you look like everyone else, surely?

Wear what you feel comfortable in, just don't go in all gothed up or anything. As long as you look reasonably smart it's fine.

It doesn't really matter...I think most of the interviews that are held around this time are with my dad, and he definitely doesn't care about what you wear...

Hmm. I'm not going to publicly announce it (might PM it)...I thought you're studying physics? :p: Or is it chem eng?!?!
Reply 8
lol no I'm doing Physics, I don't know anyone in Chem Eng, I'm just curious!

ok, so I wont wear a suit. anyone had the interview yet, its 20 mins supposedly and do you know what questions could be asked.

I'm going to wear a suit to mine. Nothing wrong with taking the interview seriously. You wouldn't go to a job interview wearing jeans.

I'd be kicking myself if I went wearing casual and everyone else was wearing suits and stuff. If I didn't end up getting an offer, I'd end up blaming the lack of suit. :p: Even though it'd be because I wasn't good enough.

However, it does create an impression.

A suit or, jeans with shirt?

No wear a white coat, with the compulsory goggles and safety gloves.

Nobody cares what you wear, just look presentable. Dont go overboard and wear a tuxedo and do go lax and wear jogging bottoms with a vest and a headband as if you've come back from the gym.

maybe i should wear nowt, i cant go wrong  tho ill probs die of cold before i get there, seeing tomorrow will be v cold.

Wear clothes. Thats about all I can suggest.
There are people who get in wering suits, others in jeans and TShirts.
Stop worrying. Uni isn't the be all and end all.
Chill and grab a drink at the union, most of you are 18 by the time of your interview now.
C'est la vie

nah im stil 17, more like, ill be 18 after or during my summer exams, but who would know
Reply 15
there were some people at the mingle who were still 17, they had their hands stamped so the bar staff knew not to give them any alcohol!

harsh but fair.

hey was this during the interview day? are the drinks free, else ill go elsewhere
Drinking b4 interview might b a bit foolish but I didn't think of doing it after:biggrin: . Im ganna wear a suit, was only person wearing one to cambridge interview but I definalty felt more comfortable. Only wear a suit if you'll feel comfortable wearing it. If it's ganna make u feel like a goon don't bother.

When is your interview? Good luck, and let me know how it goes (and who your interviewer was) !
