Relief? Denial? Realisation that it doesn't really matter?
Wouldnt it actually be directed at Psychology students?
As a Computing student though, Ill take a stab in the dark at even though you were rejected your feeling happy because you know you have the confidence to do the same in the future.
How'd I do?

You got a definite answer and you can move forward from it. No worries "does she like me, doesn't she like me" and no "OMG can I even ask her out", you've done it, you have an answer, and it's ok. She said no, but she didn't laugh, she didn't act like you were stupid for even having thought of asking her, and so it's ok.

Plus it means you're free to go and look for someone else to like.

I just asked a girl out, and (expectedly) she rejected me. The weird thing is, I am much happier than the few weeks I've been. What's wrong with me? Medical students??

expect some reasoning behind this to which we explain why.

relief, plus you probably feel good about yourself for managing to pluck up the confidence to do it
