Yo! Sushi

Anyone ever been to one of these before?
Just bringing it up because I ate at one for the first time on Friday, in Leicester Square, and I really liked it. Some pretty nice food, which I really enjoyed. Although the edamame beans did scare me a bit :afraid:
Was a pity they didn't have a wider range of dishes though; saw the same things go round twenty times, lol!
Plus, I managed to use my NUS card when paying, and got a £17 bill down to £8.50 .
Wow!

Did you go in the bar? It's called Yo!Below and is very very different.

I've eaten at a Yo! Sushi (In Soho, a bit off the beaten track)...I know what you mean about the beans to an extent - some of mine flew accross the restaurant.

It's so cheap and quick that I'd certainly eat there again...although it's frustrating when you just can't find anything you want (although the chefs will make it fresh, if you ask).

Had lunch there today, and at 50% off they probably have the most generous student offer ever.

Overall it was a good experience, most of the food was nice but not amazing. For example you can find better sushi, better noodles, better tempura etc. in other places, but it's great for convenience.

To be honest, I would definitely go there again for a cheap lunch as long as I can use my student card, but if I had to pay full price the total would be too high to justify the quality and quantity you get.

 Are you serious? 50% off? ...I may have to eat out there way more often!

They only use very fresh fish. If you went to the supermarket and bought some fish, and then ate that raw,it would be bad for you and might make you ill.

We made sushi with fish from the market last year in Bordeaux. I LOVE sushi.

Man I should have told my mum that 2 years ago! She made sushi from raw salmon which she brought from tescos 2 years ago, and I was the victim of food poisoning (I always am first to test her food)! Which made me turn into a vegetarian.......
Hehe, if you want to make sushi yourself, use the freshest fish you can from a fishmonger, and don't go near supermarket fish. My dad makes excellent sushi, and my boyfriend makes really great vegetarian sushi.

do you just have to show your nus card to get the 50% discount? or do you have to print a voucher off online first? I read something like that on the yo sushi site... wouldnt like to indulge and then have to pay double what i was expecting to!

Is this 50% off discount for students valid only in Leicestes Sq Yo-Sushi or do you know if it in every store they have? I just went there for a lunch with my school friends and we all had the vouchers that give you 50% off, but if you get a student discount we might be going there more often

Yo-Sushi is nice though. I prefer it during the lunch hour when there is loads of different dishes on the conveyer belt and you can just pick whatever catches your eye. In the evening you can just ask the chefs to make you the dish but it's a bit extra hassle.

Uh-oh...I've made my own sushi with supermarket fish before...I appear to still be breathing, however. Close shave, I'll say.
