I went to the cinema alone for the first time to see The Hunger Games as no one else wanted to see it then I went to see Men Woman and Children on my own because it looked good and I was already going to the cinema later with my mum so I thought I'd go see that too and then today I went to see The Longest Ride today on my own because I've waited for it to come out forever and I wasn't going to miss seeing it just because no one else wanted to!! I don't remember if there was any one else alone in the cinema for the other two movies but today there was an old woman and an oldish woman both sat on their own so is it more acceptable to do this when you're older or what..? You're just sitting down and watching a movie and it actually makes more sense to go on your own in my opinion

I also went to watch 5 Seconds of Summer in concert on my own recently and the people next to me looked at me so weird when I walked in. Okay, so a concert is more social than watching a movie but again, you are just there to WATCH something not socialise with your friends right??

I doubt anyone would notice, or care for that matter, I'd go on my own if I really wanted to go and no one else would.
Because they're programmed to believe that cinema is a social place and that you need to be with other people to socialise.

I learnt a while back the pleasure of going to the cinema alone after I realised my friends keep spoiling my films by criticising all the way through them.

Now I can enjoy them in peace.

It actually got so bad that I now go to a cinema for the deaf as they tend to make no noise at all

You are?? like a holiday, holiday or travelling/volunteering??

Holiday - well, short weekend break where I can build a fat sandcastle, play some golf, climb a volcano and sunbathe afterwards
I've even gone to a foreign country alone to see a concert because none of my friends were Lady Gaga fans :frown: tough life.

did it two years ago to Thailand

doing it again in six months

so yolo......yolo solo

and no i dont think its wierd and have done it many a time, at least that way everyone there (i.e me) wants to see the movie and isnt just going cos of a majority consensus

I also went to Thailand (Phuket Island) solo - but only for 9 days. Near impossible to be able to book holidays at the same time as colleagues, let alone convince them to go to the same destination.

Anyway earlier this year I went for dinner alone on Valentine's Day so 2-1 to me in the yolo solo match
Yeah I went abroad on my own one day I just packed my rucsac and left.

I've never been the cinema on my own but I don't think its weird to do so. You're sitting just watching a film in silence anyway.

I'm no fan of going with other people. They constantly talk and I'm just trying to enjoy the film.

So as you've probably already figured, I go alone... quite a lot. I prefer it that way especially on a weekday at around noon if I've finished Uni early, it's nice and empty. Large nachos with cheese and salsa dip, can't go wrong
I have a friend who regularly goes on his own. I see no issues with it no big deal.
I have never gone to a cinema alone, but I would be ok with going there alone if I had to. Really though, I enjoy going with someone else because I like the company and I like to discuss the movie deeply afterwards haha.
Its why I ended up getting in to planespotting. You cant really eat go to a cinema, restaurant, club, bowling, theatre or anything much on your own.

It does seem a bit absurd though being hounded out of my local cinema by gaggles of 15 year old gooks and wogs.

I actually don’t think that it’s a bad idea at all because I find to think that when you go with other people you start talking to them and you can’t really concentrate and enjoy the movie as much as you want to😀
