Internships crisis - PWC/Grant Thornton

So I got onto a Tax 6 week internship in London for Grant Thornton a couple of months ago successfully (woo!) but since then have chanced my luck at PWC. This was a long winded and delayed process and I've had my partner interview today which went really well so I think I'm very much in there! Trouble is, with Grant Thornton I'm starting with them on Monday even though if I get PWC (which I'd take over Grant) is for the second intake starting in late July which would clash.

At such late notice could I ask to skip the last two weeks?

Also to make matters more complicated I thought I was applying first intake for PWC but actually its second and I have a holiday booked for August - can I miss a week?

My questions are therefore.

1.) How soon will I hear back from PWC about Partner Interview.
2.) How likely is it I can ask for reduced time on internship - from 6 to 4 weeks.
