Hello,

I studied Economics at university back in Mallorca, Spain, and since then I have been working for Bloomberg (a big financial data company) in the City of London until now.

I am now planning to move back to Spain and, being only 27, I am considering a few options.

1) Going back to Mallorca and studying a masters on Planning and Managing Tourism Businesses. I could then have some knowledge and studies on tourism thinking long-term as I plan to go back to Mallorca eventually and the tourism industry there is massive.

2) Going to Madrid with a secured job, as I really want to live in Madrid as an experience for a few years before settling in Mallorca eventually.

The drawbacks are a few for both options. On the first one, it would be quite a break as to what I am doing now and working in one of the biggest financial companies, it is one to think of. After four years of experience here, breaking with it all and putting my focus in tourism, I am not sure how this would impact my job hunt in Madrid after I finish the master... I could be asked "Why did you choose a masters in Tourism?" And "Why not a masters in finance?". If I manage to get an interview at all, as I am scared to look like a don't know what I want (which is kind of true).

On the second one, I have had a look at jobs in Madrid and they all look quite abstract and that's the impression I get with finance jobs. I am not specialised in any financial product so I am finding it difficult to picture myself doing any of the jobs I see.

I have such a dilemma, what are your recommendations guys? Any advice would be welcome! Perhaps a way to give reasons for me to study a tourism related masters, even if I then look for a job in finance...

Many thanks!
