No idea when they send it out.

But, in my day at least (2 years ago) it was a letter. I'd be very surprised if they email or call.
It's different for every subject, Physics supposedly got sent out on the 12th but I didn't get mine until the 21st - that may have been more down to the post though.

Anyone aware of Corpus' reputation for Physics (or Philosophy for that matter, or both together)?

Any particular questions? You'll get more responses that way.

As for general comments - Corpus is GREAT!

Do come! For first year, you'll probably be in New Building, which is well, low-star hotel-ish. Although you may get lucky and get somewhere else - there's rooms in Magpie Lane houses (these actually have cookers, I think), Kybald (pretty, oldy thing), Thomas and even a couple in quad rooms. I know someone who as a first year had a separate bedroom and living room  but that's certainly the exception.

Then for the rest of the degree you get to choose, to an extent - you get balloted according to whether you have exams in the next year. You might then live out in the Liddell complex (made of a victorian house and two more modern buildings with the complex shared with ChCh), or in another of the college-owned houses.

I think food's very good, but nobody else seems to... I think it depends on whether you're used to being cooked huge fancy home-made stuff by your parents or been making microwaved meals for yourself for years...:p:

If you have anymore questions, ask so long as they're not physiology-related - I took quite a while to realise that Oxford did a physiology degree, let alone that there were physiologists at Corpus...

Argh! You're doing GCSEs and deciding on colleges? I can't help but think that it's not healthy to think about Oxford in detail that far in advance. This is possibly just because of my personal path of not allowing myself to even imagine myself as getting in, just because of low chances, but it seems to raise so much in the way of hopes just waiting to be dashed.

But Corpus is lovely, very good-looking and most of the inhabitants won't start screaming at you as greeting (c.f. above  ).

As for Law, well, people I know who are doing it seem to be content with the college's teaching and also a pretty bright bunch.

I can't give you any general info about law, but one of Corpus' philosophy fellows, Dr John Tasioulas specialises in the philosophy of law (amongst other areas). I don't know whether legal philosophy is compulsory for lawyers, but if it is, you'll be well set at Corpus.

Don't let that put you off. Many teachers in 6th forms/FE colleges are full of crap.

I'm a white, lower middle class female...

I did see an awful lot of that stereotype when I went for interview though, but obviously my view was limited to second year scientists.
