Hm... I think there are about 5 or 6 this year? No idea how average that is, though.

As a future Corpuscle, I had a couple of questions:
- What's the college stance on Skype?
- How's the heating?
- Are all the sinks with separate hot and cold water? :o:

We use Skype, though you have to configure something according to instructions on the Oxford Uni Computer Services site. Not sure exactly what that does (you can tell I'm not great with technology!) but I have no problem video-Skyping home.

Rooms can be as warm as you want them, though as I'm not actually 100% how to work my storage heater (again, technology is not my forte! :p: ) I often end up with my room too warm!

Yup, all the sinks have hot and cold running water.

Ah, that is fine, however, what I meant is, are they mix-taps, or separate?

Separate in every Corpus room I've ever been in.

Oops, sorry - yup, two separate taps per sink! :p:
Hi there!

I will be a law postgrad at Corpus. Does anyone know about graduate housing and the system of balloting out the acco? I've also heard Iffley is not a very safe area to be in .. so im torn between college grad housing and uni grad housing (49 banbury, 25 wellington sq)

I really want the whole college experience - but see little point if the housing is so far away from the college itself - considering that most grad college housing is in iffley/70 banbury/park town/120 woodstock ()

Hi gayatrikmr,
All the graduate accommodation is a bit out (although not really that far - Liddell is ~12mins from college, while the college houses down Iffley/Banbury Rd/Park Town/Woodstock Rd are quite a bit further by foot (a guess - 30mins?). You would be with other Corpus grads + possibly some undergrads, but I'm not sure how sociable it is (I'd imagine it varies by year).

There's pictures of Liddel flats here: http://www.corpusjcr.org/college/?cid=162 , and that's fairly nice.
Some of the other houses are the same for undergrads and grads and there's more info (with pictures) on the JCR website
http://www.corpusjcr.org/college/?cid=89

(you've probably got this list, but the grad housing is:
# Liddell Residences, 60 Iffley Road
# 208 Iffley Road
# 68 Banbury Road
# 70 Banbury Road
# 8 Park Town
# 120 Woodstock Road)

I'm afraid I'm only familiar with the undergrad balloting system, but have a vague notion that there might only be a balloting system for grads that are already there (i.e. going into the 2nd etc year of their grad course) although that might be rubbish.
Thats great information!

Thanks a lot!

Hey guys,
I've got a unconditional offer from Corpus for PPE next year, which is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING but as I'm an international applicant I haven't been there for interviews. The article on TSR is rather short and their website doesn't differ too much from websites of the other colleges, so I'd be happy for any piece of information about how the tutors are, what stereotypes are attributed to Corpus, how the rooms are, what the food is like, how the people who came down for their interviews enjoyed the place and everything remotely connected to Corpus.:reel:

Given that I have to make a decision to make within the next 20 days, even the most anecdotal reply is greatly appreciated here.

thanks!
