How to study alone and do practical science exams?

I am wondering how it would be possible to study for Chemistry and Biology A-levels by myself and do the practical elements. Could anyone provide some advice?

I am not against studying with an institution, but obviously doing it alone would save time and money. I am also confident in my ability to comprehend information and learn independently. The distance learning courses do not look like they would be particularly helpful in any way.

So what would I need to do to if I wanted to study independently, for the practical Biology and Chemistry modules?
