The ultimate, "should I go.."

OK so I met a guy last week, and spent the whole night dancing with him. Since then we've been texting a lot, and he's invited me to his friend's party. Great.

Only problem is, that although he's said I can bring mates, he won't actually be there until later on, after he finishes work. I won't know anyone there, not even the person who's party it is. Me having terrible confidence, and hate situations where I don't know anyone, is absolutely terrified. So I don't know if I should go. On the other hand, my friend thinks we should still go. :s-smilie:

Why don't you just go to the party with him when he's finished work? go with some mates to a bar for a few drinks then meet him from work and go to the party with him.

if youve been invited by him yeah. he'll have probably told the host/ess (if he's good friends with them) that youre going. and if he does like you theyre likely to be extra nice to you to help you fit in

I'd just show up at the same time he's supposed to get there. That way you're not hanging around on your own.

You could take a friend so that you have someone to chat to. Your friend might not like being ditched for a guy though, so maybe better to bring a few and they can keep each other entertained.
I would definitely go, but take some friends with you and either meet him when he's finished work, or arrive at the party around the same time that he's due to.

yeah i've invited a few. I'm having doubts about this now. I'm going to a party, I don't know anyone there but him, and I've only met up with him once before! And knowing my luck, he won't have said anything about me coming, so i'll be stuck outside until he actually comes anyway :p:

oh this is stupid now..i still can't work out if i'm going! i am so nervous, i've only met the guy once and i've had to let him down (not intentionally) once before. I don't want him to give up on me!
Why don't you just arrive at the same time as him?

GO! Otherwise you'll end up regretting it for sure!

Maybe text him & tell him you're worried about turning up to a stranger's party & I'm sure he'll reassure you that you're invited, or offer to meet up with you after work.

Or just go with your friends & have a blast!

PS. Report back on how the party went!

:frown: I didn't go, my friends pulled out because of the distance and wetaher.
I text him, telling him I was sorry and that we'd have to meet up. He seemed ok with it.
I regret not going :frown:
