Two words: colouring in.

Lewis don't be such an arse. xx
Asked me to say about the course, that's my perception. If clowns like Jez can get a 2:1, I rest my case. But yeah, I admit my thing was a bit harsh.

The course seems to be quite well enjoyed by those who take it. There is a dissertation in final year which counts for near enough 25% of your whole degree. They do lots and lots of coursework, and quite a few exams actually... so all in all, they possibly do quite a lot of work.

however, studying things like the "McDonaldisation of Society" (which is exactly what it sounds like) might not float everyone's boat.

I know plenty of 3rd year Geog'ers who have had no exams during this exam period.

Anyway Lewis, surely you must realise that in this computer age colouring in with pencils is a thing of the past...you just drag and drop the colour you want.
Yeah, their final year appears to involve very few exams, but as I said their dissertation is a bit of a monster. Nice one sim, how could I forget such advancement?

Despite being colouring-in (you'll get used to this and learn insults for all the other subjects, particularly joke ones eg. sociology) it still has periods of surprisingly large amounts of work. But most of the time its quite chilled out. Expect about 12 hours a week. The Geog School is in the UK's top 5 I think.

At Nottingham depending on a few things you can do a BA, BSc, Geog with business (and something), Geog with archaeology, Geog with a few other things u'd hafta check the website for details.

If you do apply and get in (good luck its very competitive) then ask to be in either Cripps or preferably Hu Stu. They're both top halls and u can more or less roll out of bed and be in the Clive Granger building.
Hu Stu and Cripps are so close to geography it makes the walk to Hallward/LASS look like a long way!
I still found it an amusing topic. What exactly do you study that as part of?

hi, im a first year geographer and im loving it. last term we had around 14-15 hrs a week of lectures and this term it has decreased to 10-11. there is loads of coursework and reading to be done tho. i think we're supposed to do 2hrs reading for every hr of lectures but tbh i dont know anyone who does coz how much you need to read will depend on how much you understood in the lecture and the amount of reading they set you.

hey, could anyone tell me about the sort of modules people are studying for human geography?
