£300? For that, don't shower her with gifts, ask her what she really wants for that price.

I appreciate the advice but it's not really the point of it for me, I just want to show her how I feel, the presents don't necessarily need to be expensive, just I was stating how much I would be willing to spend on her if there was something I liked.

Just for the record, I'm already taking her to dinner, and arranged for her and her friend to go on a spa pamper day thing (she's been going on about wanting to go on one whenever we go past the spa), bouquet of roses and the like.

For £300 you could do just about anything.

How long have you been dating?

Take her to Paris for the night!
Gifts are great, but I believe thought is also an important factor. The idea is you want to make her feel special- and this is different for different people:

(Idea One) You should pamper her: get her nails and hair done then take her out to dinner.

(Idea Two) A romantic walk a the park, followed by a picnic with all her favourite foods

(Idea Three) The theatre is always nice- more special than the cinema

Hope it was some help

Thats sort of what I was going to say.

Just do a nice romantic weekend together at a B&B.

By jove I wish a guy would go crazy for me like that.

Seriously though, for that expense ask her, subtly or directly so you don't end up disappointing yourself if it's not what she was expecting. Just make her feel loved and treasured and I'm sure the day/night will be fine.

Year anniversary on Valentine's Day.

We can't really go anywhere out of the country at the moment as I haven't renewed my passport. (>.>)

Barry, thanks for the idea, sounds good.

I don't want to get her too many things as it would be a bit too much, just a couple of extra things.
a year?? bloody hell...will you ask her to pay it all back when you break up? she might get freaked out that youre trying to make up for something.
A romantic weekend away? Possibly in London... there's tons to do there!

Take her on a romantic mini-break
Or some other city break  Rome, Prague... you can get a lot on easyjet.com for not so much money. For example, for £130 I've booked two nights in Prague with return flights and a hotel. (Just realised your passport is out of date, sorry!)

The theatre is lovely... though don't choose a play where everyone dies gruesomely like my ex did

We're giving Valentine's a miss this year and sticking to spoiling each other for birthdays- his is in February, mine is in March, so not much time to save up for Valentine's!

Haha, I appreciate it, but she's had a year to get used to me spoiling her, so it's cool. It's been an incredible year with her so it's just a way of me showing my feelings towards her.

I was thinking of taking her away somewhere, but she doesn't really like busy places, so London is pretty much out of the question.

Yes it is very beauitiful, however it has been snowing on and off up here for the past two days and is very cold atm.

So I wouldn't recommend up here for a while as it is likely going to get worse.
