Assume Gordon Brown was not certainly going to replace Blair as leader, who would YOU decide to be Labour leader?

Prescot for a week just because it would be the funniest week ever.
Non of the cabinet are 'nice' people who i would vote for so it would have to be a back becher, so basically a brownite any hows.
Perhaps the Beast of Boslover for a bit of entertainment.

Oswald Mosley -

"He was popular and handsome
As Richard Burton
'Cos I seen him on the box once
With his black shirt on
And though I cannot claim to be
Any great authority
As far as I'm concerned
The sun shone out of his oratory

He could have been a great dictator,
Given half a chance
But they treated him like a traitor
So he went to live in France"

I really can't see a credible candidate. Then again Major was hardly the first choice of the bookies to replace Thatcher. Milliband anyone?

I absolutely cant stand Milliband - he is 100% bull****. Arrived at my estimation of him as a **** the first time isaw him spouting a load of utter nonsense/irrelevance when he was Higher Education Minister ( or whatever it was ) on Newsnight and hes done nothing since to convince me he is anything more than the bull**** spewing Blairite he appears to be.

Probably Jack Straw, as a best bet.

Hence why Brown will win.

Blair.
Brilliant. I knew someone would say that, just wondered how long it would be! Isn't Reid more right wing than Blair (although after Reid's infamous letter I'm beginning to wonder)

Who ISN'T leaning more to the right within Labour? The majority of the party have abandoned their left-wing principles.

New Labour is submissive to big business, gets into bed with the Americans, and is hell-bent of privatising the whole of the public service sector.

I'd actually leave the country. Even Brown would be better. Not that that's saying much, seeing as McDonnell is somewhere between Castro and Chavez in his views.

Labour need to avoid any of those splashed with Blairism. I would rather beat myself silly with a 2x4 than vote for another neo-con-execuspeaking-faux-labour current cabinet member.

Bugger it. Let's have four years of old labour, dusted off from the back of the shelves and pushed out into the lime light.
