The Magdalen and New ones are better. But they only happen once every 3 years. The Queen's one is a fairly standard ball.

Well, the only ball I've experienced recently is a little plastic one with a pikachu inside so they all sound pretty darn great to me!

The Magdalen one is the best I've ever been too. It cost about £200 but was worth every single penny.

When was the last one? I want to work out whether I need to start saving (because I'll need a dress too)!

One of the few reasons I went to a school for sixth form because schools have leaving balls. My school couldn't be bothered.. Oh well, I'll get to start at the top I guess

It takes 2 years to organise! And Oxford have one main one every year. This year New college are having their big one. And it's white tie, which isn't a problem at Oxford because everyone has several white ties.

And the next Magdalen Ball is due in summer 2006, the last was in 2003.

Ahh, so I'd better start saving now if there's a main one every year! I'm all excited now *goes to bed to dream about dresses*

There is normally a main one every year. The New College on is this year (26th June) which I also have a ticket for because my sister got one but can't go, so if I can walk after the Queen's one on the 25th, I'll go to the New one on the 26th.
