Hi everyone! I am selling a brand new, untouched 400 practice questions book for BMAT on eBay for £11! I don't need it so check it out, hopefully it can help someone: http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/400-BMAT-Pra...SELLING_ACTIVE

I didn't see one of these up yet so thought I would make one! Seeing as a lot of people are doing/have done their UKCAT already I thought that people who were planning to do the BMAT were thinking of about how to prepare... so here's the thread!

Start off by squaring both sides and then multiplying through by b. Then completing the square on the RHS will be helpful.

This is what i got, not sure though.
y^2b=x^2+2ax
(x+a)^2-a^2=y^2b
(x+a)=(y^2b + a^2)^0.5
then bring the a over the other side and the answer is A (didn't read the options carefully)
Might be wrong thooooo

Thank you, that completing the square thing didn't occur to me at all! Ps. just read your story, truely inspirational! You've worked really hard to where you are and it gives hope to people like me! Best of luck for uni

Your working is right but the answer is A. The y is squared not the B as it is in C.

Didn't look at the options carefully enough that's all.
Yeah, I got A too. I swear there's already a thread, though?
