Transfer rejected! My life is over!

I'm at UEL and applied for a transfer to a much better university by credit transfer since I don't have good grades. I applied before 15th January. That university's policy said they give out offers/rejections 6-8 weeks after receiving applications... I got rejected in 2 weeks. I originally phoned up and managed to agree to send them a reference at a later date. I was hoping if they ask for a reference in March it was a good sign but no, they had to reject me so early. I doubt they filled all their places already because last year that course came up in Clearing. It's a red brick uni by the way.

Is it wise to contact them again in Clearing or should I try another university in Clearing? I haven't even asked my tutor/lecturers for a reference yet; should I bother with this anymore? Phoning up in Clearing day will probably result in talking to students who won't give a damn about transfer applicants and emailing them a couple days before Clearing might not get me replies. :mad:

I'm having a really bad time at UEL and of all the universities that I want to transfer to, there are only two that vaguely said they'll consider me. Looks like the university that rejected me already just used the word 'consider' as a polite gesture of saying 'sorry mate'. I'll probably look like a fool trying to contact them again in Clearing... :frown:

Maybe something went wrong with my personal statement or maybe they just don't bother with transfer applicants from ex-polytec universities. I'm hoping they just filled their places already and they might let me in if that course comes up in Clearing. :confused:

Very very stupid not putting down 6 choices. It seems you have too much common sense for this uni but not enough academia to go elsewhere. Ever though of trying to join a decent company and work your way up?
